This restaurant has gotten through the thickest of times. Not kidding. I get the Tantalizer every time and it physically and emotionally heals me. I'm so glad I stopped by one random day, because this restaurant has been a staple for me ever since. I will never stop coming here- in fact, I will never ever consider living more than 30 minutes from here. Also I did the 24-inch sandwich challenge, and it took me 2 tries but man was it worth it. I've never felt more proud.

Came back here after 20+ years since the last time I was there. Decor is basically the same, the Free Winona poster seemed new - though that particularly cultural touch point is also over 20 years old.However! The sandwich tasted exactly the same. It was tasty, filling and inexpensive. The staff were friendly.I was pleased that this food memory from my broke college days held up to my "can afford pricier food now" palate. If I lived locally, this would probably still be in heavy rotation.

Vegetarian options: They have a vegetarian sandwich. I haven't ever eaten it so I can't say how good it is. But sandwich bread is great and the veggies I get on my sandwich are always fresh.Kid-friendliness: The atmosphere is fun but not childish. No toys or anything but the comic strips on the tables are retro and fun for kids. And different tables have different comics. From far side for teenagers to Calvin and Hobbs for younger.

I’ve heard good things about this place but when I went I wasn’t impressed.Bread felt microwaved yet rough, the place itself was rather gross (dirty and holes in walls)It’s hard to justify going here and spending as much as it costs, when Subway and Firehouse are so close.
