I went to Charlie Chows for the first time ever over a month ago and thought I'd review. When we first got there, I was a little bit sketched out because of the look of the place. It is a little run down and is in an odd spot. Parking was really difficult to find, and the underground parking that we did find for the restaurant only had one entrance and exit which was very narrow. That's not necessarily the restaurant's fault though. Once our full party got in, we met our waiter and he was so awesome and helpful. He was very patient with us, seeing as some of us never had been there and didn't know the ropes. We went to the buffet to go and get out food and I was really put off at how the rice was put out... Anyone can just stick their hands on the bucket and get the rice and you have to lean over the buckets too, especially if there isn't much rice and you have to get to the bottom of the barrel. I just imagined tons of people leaning over them and getting god knows what in the barrel of rice. Their selection of veggies and meats was awesome and the food was delicious when it came out! Our overall experience was great, but it was the concern over the rice placement that brought the rating to a 3. !! P.S. this happened pre- COVID and I realized just now this review has been sitting in my drafts.

The staff here is so gosh darn nice! THE FOOD IS A SOLID 3 stars but the staff 4. They were so patient with me and all my questions. (I was using a coupon) and I noticed that the online menus didn't do what I wanted justice. The location is pretty prime for downtown area. The food made my truck smell so good I was so stoked to eat! I ordered the hot and sour soup, dumplings, beef and broccoli, and lettuce wraps. - bummer was my soup was luke warm I literally live 5/6 blocks away :( My dumplings were not hot or cold very room temperature, my beef and broccoli, and lettuce wrap meat were hot to hotter per-say. - bummer right? - I also only live 5/6 blocks away so it's not the long drive that made them cold. I was rushing it was a long day and boy my truck smelled DELICIOUS! They were Saran wrapped and in styrofoam so I'm confused how they didn't hold a temperature. That only tells me that they weren't hot when they were plated/packed. The parking situation isn't the best I was told to park in the stone field or whatever is next to them because they "knew each other" . Scared me because there is a impound sign on every one of their spots so I parked on the way road I left my emergency lights on because when I parked like ran inside she said park in one of those stalls I also saw the back door said "use front door" too many mixed signals lol so I parked again on the one way road and called and asked if my to go was ready.

Just ordered takeout from Charlie Chow's and we will definitely be going back. The woman who greeted me at the front was absolutely lovely. Hard to see a smile through a mask, but hers was a big one! Everyone seemed very happy and helpful, the space looked clean and like they were taking the pandemic seriously, my order was spot on and they wrapped my items carefully so they wouldn't spill. On top of that the food was absolutely delicious! We ate super well for a very reasonable price! Great food, great service, great spot!

One of my preferred places for tasty Chinese food. this place is absolutely one of my favorites. i had a cousin come into town and asked me to take him back here. prices are decent for the quality.

The food was really tasty and there was a lot of it. I was really in the mood for tempura shrimp but they didn't offer that, but what we got was good. It was a little high for the quality of food. However if your really hungry Charlie Chows is the answer, but I don't think I would order it unless your REALLY HUNGRY. We have enough food left over for lunch and dinner the next day.
