Food was pretty good. Portions are very small for the price. One meat plate plus drink is over $15… would go to Mo’Bettahs over this anyday.

I called for catering information. All I did was call and ask if there’s anyone I can speak to about catering, and he told me not at the moment. he sounded as if he wanted to just end the conversation and then I had to say well is there a good time I can speak to someone about catering and he said sometime in the morning. Sounds to me as if they don’t really want business if I had to try to push to ask for some help come on guys

I'm glad they went back to the old menu, but the workers need to speak English. I have been there twice and asked for chili-teriyaki twice and gotten katsu sauce. They also weigh everything so it feels like you get less food, plus, prices are more expensive. For 18 bucks it's a 2 meat plate that barely feeds 1 person. The chicken quality itself isn't great, it looks grey and seems fatty. They still have kinks to work out before I will be back

Tries their Katsu chicken and rice and Mac salad. Straight to the point. Katsu Chicken was dry, rice was plain white rice. With coconut just spelled Kokonut in their name and being title an island grill I expected Coconut Rice. Food was prepared too far ahead.

We came to this location for dinner on the night of 1/13/24 with my family. I should’ve known our experience was going to be bad the minute we heard Mexican music playing at a Hawaiin restaurant. We love Mexican music so we decided to still give it a shot. The 2 workers there a girl and boy were both flirting with each other and not even paying attention to our food cause they even forgot to give us the sauce for our chicken katsu and even sauce over our North Shore fried chicken. We had to go back and ask them for it. The food there was not that great. Chicken was dry, they barely give you enough Mac salad and they forgot to give us our Lilikoi drink that we had bought. So we went back to ask for it and she tried charging us again for it after we had told her we already paid for it but never got it. The Mexican music continued to play throughout our entire dine in experience and was hoping for some kind of Hawaiian music at some point. Overall our experience here was horrible and sad to say we will not return and we will not be recommending this to anyone. If you want more bang for your buck, better Hawaiian experience with better tasting food you’re better off going to Mo Bettas Steak.

Really disappointed in how they revamped the whole menu. They don’t have plates or chicken katsu anymore :/ the bowls were fine, we just liked the original Kokonut better!

Food is decent, but the experience wasn’t. The doors were locked at 11:30am on a Wednesday. We had to knock for the only member of the staff to unlock the door for us. She quickly locked the door after as well. The menu has shrunk significantly and is less impressive. After we got our food, the worker had to unlock the door, and then quickly locked again after we left. Weird vibes. Will definitely go to Mo Bettah’s next time.

Absolutely disappointed that they limited their menu down to just rice bowls. No more katsu chicken, no more Mac salad, no more spam masubi. No more multiple meats plates you can order that came with rice, Mac salad or salad. Meats are limited to 3 different preparations of chicken and pork. I've been a faithful customer for a long time now and will no longer be going as this is not true Hawaiian fare but a cop out (probably due to rising costs but c'mon.) - When you lose half your customer base, you'll really feel it in your pockets. Will take my business to Mo Bettah's for my Hawaiian fix going forward.
