This is one of our favorite restaurants in salt lake! The food is so delicious and the staff is always so kind. We always get the taste for two, it has a little bit of everything and it’s so filling and good. Thank you so much to everyone at Mahider!!Kid-friendliness: Toddler friendly, and there’s a changing table in the bathroom.

I get the vegetarian combo each time because it is so good. Arguably one of the best restaurants in Salt Lake City. Tastes great and you feel good afterwards. Always greeted with a warm smile from the staff and owner every time I go. Take out is really quick with what I order too.Vegetarian options: Lentils, spinach, and more!

Mahider is one of only a couple of Ethiopian restaurants in Salt Lake. Thank goodness it's good. This review is for those that haven't had Ethiopian food before. The Siga Wot is delicious; it's a thick stew of slightly spicy and flavorful beef. The portions are sufficient for one meal, possibly a small take-home. Looking for vegetarian? Try the Sambusa as an appetizer and the Yemisir Wot as a meal. What makes Ethiopian food distinct is injera, the spongy sourdough crepe-like flatbread that is used to scoop up the food. Ethiopian food is eaten with hands not utensils. The restaurant has about a dozen tables. There's a store with Ethiopian food and coffee items next door. The service was good. I will come back.Vegetarian options: Yamisir Wot. Sambusa.

Great experience! Been to a couple other Ethiopian restaurants and we got more food here for the same price! Got a plate for 4 and loved it. Love the unique art as well. A friendly place to try Ethiopian Food!

First time trying Ethiopian food, and I will definitely be back. Had the taste of mahider for two, and it could have easily fed 3 or 4 people, so make sure you are hungry or you'll be taking some home.

If you haven't had Ethiopian food before, I think you should give it a try, and this is probably the best place in Salt Lake to get some, tho there are some decent other restaurants. The sampler platters are the way to go. They also have quite good coffee. Not a great place for people who can't handle strongly spiced food, I guess.
