Hella YUM... maybe eat if you like seafood I guess. No scallops‍. I ordered a steak I might like it. I did some cool scooter tricks before coming.

Super nice staff. Reasonable prices. Great appetizers and drinks! Will definitely be back soon!

It had been about 3 years since we dined at the Market Street Oyster Bar. Last night's experience was very unfamiliar and much lower quality than I remember. First off, we made a reservation (party of 3) and requested a booth in our reservation notes. Upon arrival there were several booths available, but our hostess sat us at a traditional table, claiming all the booths were reserved for future guests. We dined for about 2 hours and just up until the bar was closing up for the night not one of those booths had patrons seated and we were left wondering? We ordered drinks, sourdough bread and a bowl of clam chowder, they were fine. Our appetizers and entrees however were a different story. The calamari was dime size and over fried, shriveled up and almost like a really expensive potato chip - no good. I ordered the Market Street Salad. Now, this is a $29 salad with lump crab meat and shrimp. Boy, what a letdown. This salad came out in what seemed like a side salad bowl (too small), five rubbery shrimp around the side, and a 1/4 cup of Lump crab meet in the center. The seafood sat on top of a bed of semi spoiled loose leaf iceberg and that was it. I was very underwhelmed and thought "is this my entree?" Additionally, the menu says the salad is tossed table side - this didn't happen. Rather, a dry rubbery spoiled salad with some sort of vinaigrette to wash it all down. Very disappointing and especially at the price point. Luckily we had an excellent server that recommended the Louie as a better, more tasteful option, so she took my salad back and had the kitchen add the Louie ingredients, which was the addition of capers, eggs, asparagus, a piece of red pepper, and tomatoes. This helped, but still not anywhere near the price point. My partner ordered a hamburger. It was clearly cooked in a pan and not charbroiled, which I know is Market Streets claim to fame. Another small detail that really goes a long way. The burger was mediocre at best and no where near the quality it was a few years ago. His sister ordered the fettuccine, a $20 dish that truly tasted like a TV dinner had been warmed up, placed under the heat lamp for 10 minutes then served. It was dry, flavorless and unfortunate. This bar/restaurant has a median entree price of I'd say $35. Some steaks and seafood on the menu can get upwards of $75+. It is definitely considered a higher end dining establishment. However, this experience was reminiscent of diner quality food and a $10-$15 price range. It was not the Market Street Oyster Bar that I remembered and unfortunately, we will not be going back.

Great atmosphere and fantastic food with good service. I had halibut and my daughter had ahi and both of us thought our meals were great

Undercooked seafood and a sweet martini. I recommend getting own drinks and a frozen dinner. The clam chowder is good, but they have lost the plot everywhere else. They shouldn't be in business. Inexcusable.

This used to be a favorite of ours but WOW they have declined. Very disappointing. First, the BEST shrimp cocktail used to be at Market Street but apparently not anymore. The shrimp were watery and the presentation was poor—several shrimp scattered on a salad plate with two sauces and some lettuce shreds. Very unattractive and not good shrimp! Second, service was adequate at best (but not unlike everywhere else right now...). Third, our meals were disappointing. My halibut was over cooked and dry. My husband’s swordfish was actually well-prepared, so the hit of the evening. Overall very disappointing. We won’t be back and are sad about that after all these years.

I've been here twice. The first time was good. Fast service and good food The last time we waited 1 1/2 hours and all we got was our appetizers. Don't know if I will be back a 3rd time.

Great oysters and service...they were a bit pricier than I would've liked, but I was being treated by the Captain. The entrees were okay, not as good as the oysters.

Not sure why the service went downhill here, sucks to sit down when there is only two other tables and not even get spoken to for 10+ min. ( actually not at all ) No sense of urgency or hustle. Don't come here if you're in a hurry. What happened to 10 minutes or less or it's free?

We love going here for brunch! We didn't realize you could go in on the Oyster Bar side! Same menu, Oyster is just 21+ (that's what we were told by the sweet hostess). The food is always amazing, staff is amazing, the ambiance and vibe of the place is just awesome! Very VERY clean and covid compliant, and again, can't say enough about how nice and fun and polite the staff are! Love love LOVE this place!

I've been dining at the Market Street family of restaurants for nearly 20 years. This place was always know as the best in town for it's fresh seafood flown in daily. I would still agree it's offers a nice selection of fresh seafood in various preparations but some things have changed. The original owners are not really part of the restaurant now and it recently went under new ownership. Sadly it feels like the servings and portions have become slightly smaller and the prices have definitely become slightly larger. I had the blackened Halibut entrée with mashed potatoes and a side of mixed vegetables plus a bowl of their classic clam chowder to start. The chowder is delicious and you can taste the pieces of clam. The mixed vegetables left me hanging. It was a tiny portion of finely diced peppers and carrots. It honestly looked more like it should have been a garnish on a dish instead of a side dish. The halibut was fresh and tasty and a nice sized portion. Fortunately on the night we dined the restaurant was not very busy. It seemed like the tables were set very close together and in the midst of the pandemic if the restaurant was busy I hope they don't fill all the tables as you can easily reach out and touch the neighboring tables. I'm unsure of their Covid-19 protocols on a busy night so I would recommend checking in advance.

Honestly my favorite evening place. The bill was average for the menu. Feels like a cafe in Phoenix that I enjoyed visiting.

ABSOLUTE TRASH EXCUSE OF A BUSINESS ESTABLISHMENT... CHEFS ARE A ABSOLUTE JOKE ... FOOD TASTE LIKE DOG FOOD ... DRINKS ARE TERRIBLE ... so much potential just wasted.. owner is clearly unconcerned with his establishment

Halibut chips were wonderful. Server was great. She checked on us just the right amount. Drinks never got below half

Me and my boyfriend recently moved to Salt Lake from New Orleans, and have been looking for a good seafood restaurant. Being tough seafood critics, we absolutely loved this restaurant. Everything we ordered was amazing! We had a friend in town, also from the south, and they completely agreed. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. As a table, we ordered the clam chowder, filet mignon, lobster tail, cheesecake, and key lime pie. We ordered some drinks as well, which were made perfectly. We had nothing but great things to say about this dining experience. Will definitely be back again!
