How do you mess up mint chocolate ice cream? Never in my life have I tasted something so off like this. It tasted like medicine.. Not a hint of mint. Plus, at $10 a pint.. Don't bother.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Delightful Twist on Soft-Serve - Normal Ice Cream is a Must-Visit in Salt Lake City!I recently had the pleasure of visiting Normal, the charming ice cream store nestled in the 9th and 9th neighborhood of Salt Lake City, and I must say, it was an absolute treat for the senses! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a cozy atmosphere and the most delightful aroma of freshly made soft ice cream. Normal's innovative twist on soft-serve truly sets it apart from the rest. The variety of flavors they offer is simply astounding - from the rich and creamy rice pudding to the whimsical and nostalgic Lucky Charms, there is something to satisfy every craving. What I love most about Normal is the creativity and playfulness they bring to their flavors. Each scoop is a delicious adventure waiting to be savored. Whether you're in the mood for a classic favorite or feeling adventurous and want to try something new, Normal has you covered. The staff at Normal is friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall delightful experience. The store itself is cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a sweet treat any time of the day or evening. If you find yourself in Salt Lake City, do yourself a favor and make your way to Normal in the 9th and 9th neighborhood. Never had anything but great service here and the flavors are some of the most innovative/best tasting on the city. Highly recommend.

I was very excited to get a delicious soft serve ice cream cone. When I was walking up, it looked like a great place for a delicious dessert. However, when you walk in you get the feeling that you are not wanted. The staff was very unfriendly and unwilling to answer questions. They made me feel rushed when there was no one else in line.If you want a soft serve ice cream cone, you’re likely to get better service going to McDonald’s on the day that the ice cream machine is broken.

This is terrible ice cream. None of the flavors were good at all. Each time we asked if they had a flavor the lady said we only have what’s on the menu. Well the menu was hard to read. If I can’t look right at a menu and know what to do it’s confusing. It just wasn’t good at all. I would just not go here again. Some people obviously like it but the ice cream was just bad and no normal flavors at all.

Delicious soft-serve ice cream in a bunch of fancy flavors. I loved the "tiramisu."

Got the Samoa cone. Ice cream itself was balanced and the toppings were a great addition. Never would have thought I'd leave a review for a soft serve place, yet here I am. Absolutely

I was very excited to find a place around town that had black sesame ice cream. Unfortunately, any black sesame flavor was undetectable with the yuzu and other components added.I had some other flavors as well which were not memorable.I would've given two stars but the owner is in the reviews being snarky, so one it is.

I got their tiramisu composed cone and it was fabulous. I love their out of the norm ice cream flavors and style. They had an earl grey ice cream bar that was my favorite in the world. Their Chaco taco is also outstanding. Definitely worth trying.

I've been to normal a bunch of times, it's my absolute favorite soft serve. Creative flavors and toppings, the cones are huge, and I've always had amazing customer service experiences. My only real nitpick is their ice cream maker temperature is apparently fairly warm, it makes an amazing texture and brighter flavors but does make eating difficult as it slides around on the cone and melts fast.I recently ordered a shipment of ice cream (we're not from SLC); UPS royally messed up the first shipment (they didn't pick up the packages and then the shipment got delayed so it arrived 4 days late completely melted) and normal (alexa is the person who was answering my emails) reshipped it immediately and was so nice about the whole thing. The second shipment arrived still frozen and I'm so excited!

It is a cute shop and I appreciated that you can build your own cone/cup or order off of their monthly menu. I wasn't a huge fan of the ice cream flavors though. The salted vanilla bean had a little too much salt and not enough vanilla for my liking. The horchata flavor was okay. This wouldn’t be my first choice for ice cream, but I’d be open to coming back.

The soft serve ice cream was above average for sure.Great selectionI'd say a great stop if you're looking! The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because for me it was all a bit too sweet. I know that sounds too nitpicky but for me I couldn't finish the half size because it was just too much in the sweet department. For me personally I'd like it with full flavor still but less forward facing on the sugar. But all in all a great stop!2 areas I don't rate on but always try and mention:Atmosphere and service were an easy 5 on each for me.

My boyfriend and I LOVE Normal Ice Cream! It is SO good. Despite the name, this ice cream is definitely not "normal"-- it is extremely creative. Every month, they come out with new and limited-edition flavors, rotating as the seasons change. The one staple that is a repeat month after month is Salted Vanilla Bean, which is THE holy grail of vanilla soft serve ice cream. It is soooo creamy and perfectly balanced in flavor. I also love to get their composed cones, which are creatively done sundaes that feature their fun flavored soft serves with interesting toppings. They are so fun and yummy. Their menu also features drinks like affogatos, coffee concoctions, and more. The people who work here are nice but so busy. Sometimes, during the rushes, I feel so bad for them, but they keep such a good attitude about things. Also, no matter how busy, they still let us sample the various flavors, ask questions, and create the composed cones with precision and consistency. They also sell things in pints and as ice cream cakes in the freezer in the store. I highly recommend checking those out too, because they are also creative flavors. The decor is so cute, both from the outside and inside. I love how young and hip it feels, and it really embodies a Salt Lake City "culture." There is also some seating, both inside and outside. This place is so good that my boyfriend and I come at least biweekly, sometimes weekly. We always crave it, and never get sick of it because they're always coming out with new flavors.
