Great beer, friendly staff, and SKEE BALL

After a day of moving, we were hungry but it was Easter in Utah so we had to do some searching for an open place! Proper Brewing came up so we gave it a try. We almost passed it up because it looked closed from the outside.Pro’s: friendly staff, quick seating and deliciously fresh food. I had the spicy chicken burger, hubs had the turkey pastrami, son had the fish and chips. We were all very happy with the food. Prices were fair too.Con’s: Being in hospitality, I tend to spot ( and be bothered by) the things that should be happening. For example, all the tables (4 or so) that finished up and left during our visit, still were not bussed when we’d left. I don’t want to look at someone’s cold, half eaten burger, dirty napkins and messy tables. There were plenty of chit chatters in the back, where we sat. Also, we saw people waiting at the front for service while everyone else was in the back.Overall: we will be back to enjoy the food.

The customer service was poor. I’m with a 3 year old. It’s hard to keep a child entertained do begin with but the whole experience was just negative. We were seated. They did not seem too busy. Actually everyone was casually working. After 30 minutes without being acknowledged we just left. Not one word was spoken to us the whole time. This is not the first time we felt unwelcome there. I would not recommend if you have somewhere to be.

I’ve been coming here for about 5 years & that has come to an end. Just do yourself a favor & go across the street to The Spot. Specially if you’re a person of color. This place is slowly going downhill.

Didn't even get to eat here. No parking at all. No street parking no public parking area. If you want to eat here you have to take the train or take the bus or walk a mile.

Larger place with pool tables and games. Both draft and canned beer options available. They also have a burger restaurant next to the brewery. They have a beer and merch store as well for to go. Very small.parking lot but nearby street parking available.

Good place to grab one of their numerous beers. Revenge IPA was my favorite. You can also get food from their burger joint which is separate building but only like 50 feet away.

Burger was dry and over cooked Mac was cold, they said they couldn’t make most of the drinks on the online menu. No one gave us menus or otherwise to show us what would be available just were notified the online menu wasn’t updated to what was available. Paid 20 bucks for the burger and fries which I had to walk next door to order and couldn’t order at the bar and it came with no silverware so I got some available plastic ware and after two broken forks I gave up. No one asked how the food or drinks were. Disappointed because I’d heard good things about this place. Sad day.

This is a pretty popular brewery, where most people grab a burger from the sister business proper burger next door. There are some arcade games and pool tables. They will definitely fun out of seats on a busy night but the atmosphere is fairly relaxed. I was able to stop in and try a number of samplers and get a few pints. Overall the beers were good. They definitely have a large number of ipas and hoppy beers. I didn't love the balance on their sours, but because the beer rotate through, they might be better the next time I visit. The staff was very pleasant and made some good recommendations for what to try next.

Good food and good beer, the staff were fine, parking was pretty tight, and the prices were a bit high

The brewery suffers from Utah's silly laws. With a lot of choices, I wanted to try one before I ordered a glass. Welp, no dice without a charge in Utah. I understand it's not their fault. The staff was friendly about that, but did little to help me choose. I told him I like a low IBU and he kinda just looked at me and didn't acknowledge what I was saying. Maybe he thought I mispronounced BYU.When we first walked in, there was an overpowering stench of bleach. I don't know if someone had an accident like that Delta flight or what, but it seemed excessive for cleaning tables at a brewery, especially at 6p or so. That should be a last thing/first thing type of cleaning. They had a decent beer selection, but no wheat bears other than a fruit forward one. I ended up with a "normal" beer with no added flavors and stuff. It was ok, but nothing to write home about. Breweries need to focus more on having a great beer without all of the added "notes" which tend to ruin them. You can order at the Proper Burger next door (We did and weren't happy with our burgers), but that's another review. If I return to SLC, I'd skip this place.
