Incredible experience, was in salt lake for a business meeting and I gave table X a try. Might come back here just for table X haha. Great place and can't wait to come back

Last night, my partner and I, along with another couple, decided to splurge on a dinner at Table X, renowned for its seven-course menu and premium pricing. With high expectations and a hefty price tag, we anticipated a memorable dining experience. Unfortunately, our anticipation quickly turned to disappointment. Firstly, the restaurant did not adequately accommodate our friends' pescatarian dietary requirements. Despite being informed in advance, the staff brought out incorrect dishes, leading to an awkward and disjointed dining experience. This lack of attention to detail was surprising and unacceptable for a restaurant of this caliber and price point. The overall quality of the food was underwhelming. Each course, barring the dessert, was mediocre and lacked the wow factor one would expect from such a high-priced menu. The flavors were unremarkable, and the presentation was nothing out of the ordinary. This was a letdown, considering the cost and the restaurant's reputation. The dessert, however, was a saving grace. It was delicious and beautifully presented, but it wasn't enough to salvage the overall dining experience. In conclusion, Table X did not live up to its high price tag. While the ambiance was decent, and the dessert was delightful, the main courses, service missteps, and the lack of accommodation for dietary preferences significantly marred our experience. I cannot recommend Table X, especially when there are many other dining options available that offer better value and higher quality. 2/5 stars.

Underwhelming relative to pricing. No complexity or surprises in terms of taste. Service was decent but MAJOR error in how they handled our dietary restrictions. We had communicated that we were pescatarian four separate times leading up to and at the dinner table (once at reservation, thrice on the day of with various parties - phone, check in, table). Despite this, one of the courses served was described as having bacon and chorizo. At this point, we interjected to inquire about the ingredients. Our server swung by minutes later to apologize but the items still made it to our check, no concessions despite a huge oversight. In summary, subpar food - not just relative to value - and clearly not capable or equipped to represent the $$$$ category. Disappointing; save your hard-earned greens.

First off Sourdough and pastries won James beard nominee, and the taste reflects that consistently!Coffee and ambiance are amazing as well, beautiful gardens and interior design, great beans from Idle Hands Roasting in SLC.Execution on drinks is nice, I had a mocha, they made their own chocolate, and all flavorings in house, this mocha was one of the best I’ve had.Overall my drink was made well, with temperature, milk consistency, and espresso flavor. 10/10.Service was lovely, bread to take home, and some toast with house made butter and jelly, hard to beat!Definitely try it, then get dinner upstairs at night! Come early for pastries as they often sell out early :)Dietary restrictions: Very accomadating

Culinary happiness! Lets just say VERBENA GRANITA, now. This little swath of creative genius came to us in the carrot appetizer, go there asap to try it. Also, the local lamb comes sizzling in cast iron skillet with an incredibly savory mushroom sauce and spruce salt. The homemade sourdough bread is delicious. They actually have bread recipes written on the wall in the open kitchen. So cool. The chefs attention to detail is impressive and his creativity inspiring. Quick service and knowledgeable staff make this a must try. We found a sophisticated clientele and relaxing ambiance. Table X is a true Salt Lake Gem! No need for a downtown location, things are happening to the south. Easy access and parking too.

We did the full course and wine pairing. It was a really fun an unique experience. The food was absolutely incredible and the wine pairing made it even better. The bread is so yummy, but the butter is to die for. They took us out in the garden after and gave us a tour. Loved how they incorporated flowers into the meal and so many fresh and unique flavors. 4/5 strictly for the fact that it's a very expensive meal with not very large portions. The food is a 8/5 though. It was fun for us to celebrate our anniversary there and we would recommend it to anyone as a one time experience.

I am completely torn on how to review this restaurant. The food was good, a few of the courses were exemplary. Yet, there's something about the experience that was just okay. I think, with a tasting menu (the only choice-either 5 or 7 courses) I wanted more atmosphere. It just seemed sort of cold and absolutely WAY too bright. The main course of the tasting menu was lamb, which I don't eat. They offered me the main course of the vegetarian menu, which was a vegetable "steak." It wasn't very good and it seemed undercooked. I asked if I could substitute the house made pasta with braised duck, which is on the seven course menu. The server seemed quite uncomfortable with the request and said she would ask the chef. She came back, and said he doesn't like to make any substitutions which was ridiculous because he was already making a substitution! However, some of the dishes were amazing. We started with the bread & butter, which is spectacular! We ordered a loaf to take home. It's so good! The rice and lentil soup was incredible, with the umami of the broth absolutely delicious. I should have asked for another serving of that as my main. The fish course was very good, perfectly cooked. My dinner companions thought the lamb was "just okay." The sour cherries and beets in juniper cream was really good...a savory dish or a dessert? Not sure but it was good. The dessert of olive oil cake tasted fine but looked horrible. So I guess I'm glad I had the experience, but I wouldn't go again.

One of the best dining experiences in my life. The tasting menu was incredible and the service, impeccable.

Eh, expected much more from this place than they delivered. I will say the service was great; they are attentive on refills and cleaning up (although for some reason, when setting my utensils and cleaning off the crumbs, my spot was always messed up...hahaha, I don't hold it against them). They even managed to get us an extra serving of sourdough bread, which was excellent bread. The choices are a 5-course vs. 7-course tasting menu and wine pairings available as well. When inquiring about their wines, I found out they are heavily focused on natural wines...hard pass for me. Coming from the wine industry, I am not a big fan of the "natural wines" movement yet, not saying I hold anything against ppl into it. However, they offered few wines, if any, that were not "natural wines". Next, they did not have the beaujolais available, which I believe tend to be one of the most underrated wines on the menu. Good for them to have it on the menu but unfortunate for us it wasn't in stock. Additionally, when we asked about the Ciliegiolo, which I've never tried, we were told it was a medium-bodied wine that was oaked in French oak barrels for a couple of months. Let me tell you, that wine was most certainly not medium-bodied, had no tannins, and tasted like cherry grape juice...though it was 14% alcohol. It was just an unfortunate start to the night. Now to the food. The amuse bouche was not memorable. The salad and mushroom rice soup were good but not too much to write about. The baja striped bass and lamb definitely made up for the somewhat lackluster course. As my friends mentioned it was an early birthday, they were nice enough to have a plate with Happy Birthday on it for my dessert. With tasting menu restaurants, it's sometimes hit or miss. My friend, who was here before, was disappointed versus the last time he came. As for my first time, it is hardly worth writing about. Debatable if I should give them another chance. But don't fault the service, they were on point!

Been lucky enough to eat great bread across the US and Europe - Table X can hang with any of em. Without a doubt, the best bread you can find in UT.

This place was awesome for us. Sounds like the experience is fairly inconsistent but we enjoyed everything. Our favorites: Amuse bouche - incredible, one of the best bites i've ever had Local Mushroom & Wild rice - INCREDIBLE, I loved this. Had this crazy almost smokey flavor, was so savory considering it was only vegetables. Campanelle pasta - had such a good bite / texture. Could eat bowls of this. Non-alchoholic drink pairings - AMAZING, never have I ever had so much fun with drinks. Everything went so well with the dishes. Service was great, very friendly and willing to explain the dishes. The interior was pretty friendly, not unapproachable like in some higher end restaurants. Felt very utah / homegrown.

I go here every time I'm visiting Salt Lake, and I'm always impressed with the food and service. Front of house staff are always knowledgeable about the ingredients and techniques creating the Chef's menu. It's mostly local ingredients and everything is fresh, always. Their house made bread and house cultured butter are worth the trip alone. Couldn't have asked for a better night out with family right before Christmas.
