Not one to write reviews, especially negative ones, but what I experienced at the Tavernacle recently prompted me to do so. Came in last night (Easter Sunday) with a group of friends for karaoke. What could have been a lovely evening quickly became an issue and an incredibly embarrassing experience for a friend and I. The karaoke host was shockingly unprofessional- we had to put a song ticket in 3-4 times, changing the song constantly because they “could not find the song we wanted to sing” even though the lyrics to said song were pulled up on their computer- it’s an incredibly popular song, all songs we requested were. We were skipped over time and time and time again, keep in mind, Easter Sunday here meant less than 10 patrons in the entire bar. When my friend finally gets up to sing, only able to do so after lying about their name, the host shut down the entire karaoke system and they were left on stage singing lyrics to their song without any music while the host kept asking for their “real name.” If we cared enough, it could have been humiliating, but honestly it was shockingly sad and felt oddly personal, even though we have no idea who the host was or what we could have done to seemingly have upset them. We had never been to the bar before, and though it could’ve become a new spot for my friends and I, I will simply not be returning to give this place by business anytime in the future.

Absolutely one of the worst bar experiences I've ever had. The bar tender was very nice, fast, and did a great job. But whoever was in charge of karaoke on Easter Sunday was incredibly rude to me and my friend and even though it was very slow we didn't get to do karaoke until an hour and a half of being there. We were getting skipped over time after time and when we asked if we were on the list she assured us we would be up next. It wasn't until I had to ask someone else to enter in a song for me under a different name than mine that I got to go up and started singing. Only to have the song abruptly stopped 30 seconds in and was berated in front of the whole bar, to be asked "What's your real name?" I repeated what I put on the last card, and she kept pressing "No but like what's your REAL name, just say it." We went back and forth for a while, me repeating my alias name and eventually she skipped the song that had already started playing. I've never met this person in my life, it seemed like there was some petty reason why she didn't let us perform like she just didn't like us? The sad part is, we would have stayed and spent time and money here for a good while longer that night and in the future if it had not been for her behavior. She was extremely rude and immature, I will never be going to the tavernacle again.

The Tavernacle Social Club, SLC, located east of Ruth Chris steak house is the best dueling pianos I have ever seen. The talent is funny, interactive and extremely talented.Service was very slow. Atmosphere was nice until a bunch of 20 somethings came in and thought it was funny to pay to have the talent sing the most vulgar songs I’ve ever heard, and I’m no prude. Several tables walked out.The drinks were delicious. Good food.Idk if this has turned into a 20 something Club, but I will return to find out.You have to park in a pay parking terrace or parking lot across the street. Casual dress.

Went in simply for the entertainment of the dueling pianos. Loved the energy, the funny, and the engagement with the crowd that the gentlemen gave! They were having so much fun. I wish I would have known I had to pay to have my songs sang or that they didn't have cashapp or some other electronic form to receive money/tips for those of us who don't carry cash. Overall, it was a vibe!

Visiting SLC to see our new grandson has led to the discovery of this gem of a karaoke bar!! Can't praise enough the bar staff, piano players and DJs running karaoke! I make a point of stopping in 2-3 times each time we come out for a weeklong visit from DE. Great song selection, and probably the best mic mix I've ever used at karaoke. rating!!

This is hands down the absolute best piano bar in Salt Lake City. The environment is absolutely electric from the patrons all the way down to the bartender pouring you a drink. They possess a want to be there, a want to perform and make you laugh and play music that makes you and all your friends sing along and pretend you’re the star of the show right at your table. The laughs are without a doubt countless and this venue will turn your night out into one you and your company will remember and blush about for years to come. Hats off to everyone involved at Tavernacle, you guys and gals are a true staple to the meaning of the word “entertainment”. I wish you all much success and thank each and every one of you for an amazing evening!-Justin

As I sit here listening to Troy and Jesus playing the piano so many good memories are being relived. I have been a patron of the Tavernacle bar for 6 years. My best friend Tony Franklin has worked here that long. I have gone here many times for Karoake, Piano night and also Drag Queen shows. I used to also be a Ricksaw biker and transport people around town. So there even stronger memories of this place than ever. I used to be at the Tav bar 3-4 times a week back in the day!
