We got a chocolate cake with a cream cheese frosting for our wedding. It was absolutely phenomenal. Super dense and wonderful flavoring. All of our guests mentioned the cake afterwards! They also delivered it to the venue which was a huge stress reliever. Overall 10/10

Purchased the single layer Lemon Cake for $20. The cake is dense similar to a pound cake with a toothesome feel. I adore this. The Lemon frosting is elegant with a fresh buttery true lemon taste ? My mother is a Lemon lover so I am going to purchase one for her birthday. Friendly youthful staff. Cheers ??

We’ve tried to like the Baking Hive, but…We just bought an almond raspberry cake and it was so rubbery. (This is from an over mixing and gluten has set up).Plus, years ago, we had ordered a cake to be delivered yet it was never delivered. When we called we were told the the delivery person had dropped it off. The problem is that our Ring never captured the person and our 3 alarm dogs never started barking. Fine. Maybe something had happened….but we were responded to with indignation that it HAD been delivered!So we’ve gone back a few times since then because we do believe in supporting small businesses. However, it’s hit or miss on quality and the rubbery cake is it for us. So with the less than friendly service and poor/not-consistent quality, we’re done supporting them.There toffee is good and the bars seem to be good so it’s not all bad.But there are better independent, small bakeries here in Salt Lake and we’ll be spending our money elsewhere.

I’ve tried nearly every item here and they have all been amazing. Elisa and the other employees are all delightful and will really brighten up your day. We’ve done awesome cakes (I like the cheeky j) and I stop by regularly for a Carmel jaguar or dirty Johnny for something delicious to look forward to. My favorite bakery in the city!

Drove from the south end of the valley only to be greeted by a dark storefront and a handwritten sign with hours vastly different than their Google site states. They have obviously scribbled out 12 (pm) and replaced it with 3PM. While here two other potential customers came. One stated the Baking Hive website says they opened at 12:00. They may have great bake goods but apparently no respect for other people’s time or needs. So heads up to anyone else thinking of purchasing from this establishment, you may want to call first to see if anyone is in the bakery.

My daughter had a birthday party at The Baking Hive with 8 of her friends. The little girls wore aprons and were able to bake from scratch, and decorate their very own cupcakes. Elisa, the owner is adorable and made the party magical for the girls. I would highly recommend having a party here. The girls had a blast!

I live right around the corner from here and this is my fourth time showing up only for the store to be closed. I even planned my errands around when they said they would be open today only to show up and have the door locked, despite the sign on the door saying they should be open. I’m sure their stuff is good, but I won’t know because I’ll be going somewhere with more reliable hours.

The baking hive is the best place for any treat! My absolute favorite is the lemon cake!! It makes me so happy every time a loved one surprises me with a cake or brownie. Everything here has great flavor and the staff is so kind and always willing to answer questions!!

Beautifully designed cake by Elisa :) This was a custom order that was ordered by writing a mail to [email protected] (that's how they do for specialty cakes that are decorative and not really on their menu). Elisa was quick to respond. I shared pictures of the style and decoration of the cake by sharing pictures posted on the baking hive Instagram. 4 stars because of the quick communication, response and the beautiful decoration on the cake. The leaves, flowers etc for this kind of decoration are usually provided by the customer, in this case I picked those. 3 stars for the quality of the cake: I ordered a vanilla sponge with vanilla and salted caramel buttercream. The flavors were good but the sponge was dense with a thick buttercream frosting. I wish it was soft and fluffy with a thinner (& less stiffer) frosting.
