This restaurant could be so good but it always takes so long to be served. Every time I have been here it gas taken 5 - 10 minutes to get the initial introduction. Then another 10 minutes for the first drink. By the time you order food you're 30 minutes into your night. Could be good but something on the service side is completely missing. Not sure if you need to add a bartender or a server but 30 minutes to order food is wild.

We are from out of town and stopped by to grab a bite to eat after playing at the children's museum. This place has great options for adults and children. The staff was friendly and attentive. If we lived around here, we would definitely return!

Superb brisket burger. Fantastic Mac n cheese, and I'm no Mac n cheese fan. Best French dip in salt lake

The atmosphere was nice and calm (it was a Tuesday evening), clean environment, it's seat yourself which is fine!My biggest gripe is how bland the food was. The swiss mushroom burger lacked any sort of flavor. The patty itself tasted unseasoned, although it was cooked well. It was the same with the onion rings. I don't know if it was just the items I got or if everything seems to be that way. I want to give them a second try sometime, just to get a better idea and give them a fair chance.

I am truly shocked at how poor our experience was given all of the good reviews of this place, and I was hoping that our experience was perhaps an isolated incident. But looking through some of the other negative reviews, it seems that this is a recurring issue. We were planning to attend a concert down the street last night and wanted to grab a quick bite to eat before heading over. Stumbled upon this place, saw that it had great reviews, decided to stop in. When we walked in there was a sign that said "Please seat yourselves", which we did, and sat down at a table close to the bar.Took about ten minutes for someone to come to our table for our drink order, we ordered a beer. About 20 minutes after that, she came back to say that they are out of that beer, so we asked for whatever kind of sour they have available. 10 minutes after that, she came back saying that they are out of three of their sours and handed us a can of rainbow sherbet sour. I am not kidding when I tell you this is one of the worst beers I have ever tasted.Fast forward to us finally ordering our food, we placed one order of fish and chips, and one order of Asian lettuce wraps. It took AN HOUR from the time we placed our food order to when we received it. We were collecting our things to walk out and just leave when the food finally came, at which point I asked for the check immediately. We had no utensils at our table to eat said food, which I also had to ask for after the food arrived and had to wait for. My lettuce wraps were served deconstructed (bowl of chicken filling with pile of lettuce on the side to "build your own"), and used my bare hands to scoop the filling out of the bowl to make my "wraps" since we didn't have utensils because at this point, I was absolutely starving. We ate as quickly as possible so we didn't have to stay in that building a second longer than we had to. This experience cost of us $50 for some mediocre fish and chips, lettuce wraps that I had to make myself, and the worst beer either of us had ever had. By the time we left, there was a crowd of people at the door, also frustrated, that had been waiting well over 45 minutes to be seated and we warned them that they should just find somewhere else to eat unless they wanted to be stuck here for two hours.I want to note, I don't think that this is any fault of the staff that was there. Everyone that we interacted with was apologetic for the wait. And every other customer here also seemed to be in the same situation as us, some of whom were visibly (and audibly) more upset. This place seems either severely understaffed for the volume of people that come through that area, or really, REALLY horrifically mismanaged.

Arrived at 5:45pm on a Wednesday evening. The place quickly filled up - NCAA basketball tournament this week. I quickly noticed that they were short of serve staff. The server who waited on us was very nice. The kitchen was incapable in filling the orders. Our order arrived at our table 90 minutes after we placed the order. We had another engagement so we had to take the order with us and eat it on the run. They should tell people that the wait time will be very long before they seat you at a table.

The Break saved our St Patty’s Day! We should’ve just gone there to begin with! We didn’t get there in time for brunch after wasting time at Flanker’s but all the food at The Break is delicious! Our waitress was amazing and we will definitely be back in time for brunch next time

Waited at our table for ten minutes and no one even brought a water. The restaurant was not busy at all, made eye contact with the waiter three separate times, nothing. We ended up just walking out, terrible service for overpriced bar food.

We came here on a Wednesday night for dinner before going to the Delta Center to catch a Jazz Game. The restaurant was PACKED - which is a good sign! We were a little worried that we wouldn't be able to get in, but were actually immediately sat close to the bar area at the last open table. Now, let's start with the positive! The highlight of our experience was definitely the service. Our server Joseph was so incredibly friendly and took the time to genuinely engage and banter even though it was busy and there wasn't an empty table to be found. He was also incredibly on top of it and quick to help. As far as the atmosphere goes, this is a standard sports bar, so it's about what you would expect. I do appreciate how open it was and there was a lot of natural light. Now, for the food. I'm going to mention that I think for this being a sports bar with the standard fare you would find at a sports bar, our experience with the food could be due to us poorly choosing off the menu. I was excited to find that they had menu items with Ahi, so I landed on the Ahi Tacos. The cook on the Ahi was executed fine, but it really lacked seasoning and you could even see that there was not much seasoning on it either. To add insult to injury, the spicy mayo lacked any depth and was incredibly heavy on the mayo, so it just didn't contribute too much in the way of flavor. This dish came with chips and salsa, and the chips were even unsalted and the salsa was quite bland. I was so let down by this dish and only ate one taco, then pushed the rest of it aside. My husband ordered a Club Sandwich and he said it was just "okay" as well. Honestly, the French fries were the star of the meal! After I pushed aside the rest of my dish, I started stealing some of my husband's French fries because they were delicious and I was still hungry.Overall, as I mentioned, I feel as though we may have not made good choices off the menu, so I wouldn't necessarily write this place off. Especially since there are reviews raving about the burgers. We will back to try something different next time!

Located conveniently across from the Delta Center in downtown Salt Lake City, The Break is a gem for sports enthusiasts. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make it an ideal spot to catch a game. The craft beer selection is impressive, offering a variety of local brews to enjoy while cheering on the Utah jazz or attending the latest event at the delta centerOne standout dish is the garlic burger - perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection, it's a must-try for burger aficionados. Plus, its short distance to the Utah Jazz stadium makes it a convenient pre-game or post-game stop for fans. Whether you're craving great food, a cold beer, or a lively sports atmosphere, The Break delivers on all fronts. The price is great for the location, you can get away with spending less than 20, but expect to spend between 20 and 40 especially if you have a couple drinks. It’s cheaper and better than the stadium food and drinks all day. It’s very close to the delta center, you could be here 5 minutes before game time and still make it to your seat at the stadium.

We was staying at a near by hotel and wanted a bite to eat. This place was close by and looked inviting. This place was very nice and the service to seat us was quick. This is a popular spot because it right across the street from where the Jazz play. The menu is nice with lots of different options to choose from.We ordered a little bit of everything because it looked interesting. The wife’s hamburger was good she said it was almost too much. It had brisket and a thick patty but with the bread it was really thick. The Mac and cheese was ok at best but was told that it a favorite of those that frequent there. I’m more of traditionalist. If your every in the area stop by it’s a hopping place on game nights.
