Out of all the employees Karen was great! Overall the store had great staff, and the food was up to par with every Cafe Río I’ve been to! Definitely recommend.I’ve seen many negative reviews on this location, but I’m sincerely surprised since my experience went so well!
The Rio café that I knew...??? Yesterday I ordered a chicken quesadilla and they reluctantly gave me a chicken that was embarrassing...I asked him to give me a new one and he said there wasn't any and that he would request something else...My wife might get a salad.We leave upset...They shout, they eat inside the business, there is no respect for the customer and like us, many and many will stop going to what was the café rio from years ago...There is no manager? Is it a screaming skirt? People without class????The lady who attended us yesterday, Saturday (May 11, 2024), lacks class and a public relations course.It's not the coffee river from before... How sad?Do you have the floor????We are from the Latin community that planted and grew in Utah.

Been here a couple of times over the last month and it keeps getting worse. Nothing is made fresh, rice is undercooked and the vegies look smashed. Today they were out of steak and queso and there didn't seem to be any cooks and they are supposed to be open for another three hours. Tonight it felt like it was the last night they would be open. Seriously felt like I was about to be on kitchen nightmares. Hopefully they can get someone to turn the ship around.

The way this place is ran is a joke. Not even sure if they have a management team. I ordered online for 7:30 pickup. Got there a few mins early and my name was on the board that it was ready. Went to get it and they said oh thats a mistake it wasn't ready yet but they would get to it asap. Seemed like everyone there for pickup was pretty upset. 15 mins pass and ask about my order. Oh we'll get to it asap. After 30 mins and nothing I ask them again. Oh we're sorry let me try to push it through. 5 mins later and they're still not working on it. They have all the order receipts bunched together and are doing them randomly. Not by pickup time. I have never seen a to go service so unorganized. I asked them to cancel my order and refund me. He went and asked a couple of people and they said oh we're not doing refunds anymore. You have to call corporate. Never got a manager or anything to try and make things right. This place is a disaster and will never step foot in there again!

It was an interesting new experience - it was like subway where you could have your Mexican food filled individually. But you felt a bit stressed, the employees behind the counter seemed too impatient, which internally prompted me to do things faster, which in turn wasn't that relaxing overall. Otherwise the food itself was very good.

I am extremely disappointed in my most recent experience! ?I came in on a Friday night, it was fairly busy. I waited in line and placed an order for my family, which was a decent size order. When I got over to the section just before paying, I asked for chips and queso. I was told the queso would be a couple of minutes, which I agreed to wait.I went on and paid for my order, and I patiently waited for the chips and queso. However, I was not given the chips nor the salsa when I completed my order either, which I thought was weird. As I patiently sat and waited for the queso and chips, I grabbed utensils and napkins, as my order was for takeout to take home for my family.I heard the two people behind me in line also order chips and queso and they were also told it will be a few minutes. After about 10 minutes, I watched the girl at the register take out 2 cups of queso to the two people that ordered behind me, and deliver it to their tables. I was expecting to also receive mine, as I ordered before them, but I didn’t even get acknowledged! She simply proceeded to go back to ringing other customers up. ?I stepped a couple of steps closer to her, and she said, ‘Excuse me, what are you waiting for?’ I reiterated I had ordered chips and queso and didn’t get the chips, nor the salsa, nor the queso. She responded with ‘Let me check on that, I know it was going to be a few minutes’…. I was a bit baffled having seen what I already witnessed. She then just ignored me and went back to running the register.In this moment I realized two young ladies who had placed an online order were also waiting on 2 orders of chips and queso, and sadly their food had been ready for about 10 minutes already. They had also not received any help.I waited over 12 more minutes before anyone had recognized I was still waiting. Nobody even came back and spoke to me again. I had to go back into the line, and ask for queso again, which I was told it would still be a few more minutes!At this point, I had now waited well over 25 minutes after paying for my food and collecting napkins and utensils. I’m certain my food was getting cold at this point! Then asked again for the chips and queso to which a different employee came from the back to ask me what I was needing. She walked straight over and grabbed queso and brought it out. I still had to ask for the chips and salsa again, which I also received promptly. Where had this lady been the whole time!?!? Remember those two females who had also ordered the chips and queso..? I listened to them also have to ask for chips and queso and sit and wait for it still. Wow!!Nothing was offered for compensation, no apology was given, so sad! An extremely terrible representation of customer service! I had some neighbors tell me not to go to this restaurant and to use a different location, now I can see why… ?

we came in at 5:30 and they were out of shredded lettuce for our tostadas. i asked if they had any in the back and they said they were out for the night? how do you run out of lettuce this early when you are open until 11pm!? absolutely ridiculous paying for something and i didn’t even get what i wanted. never coming back to this location.
It pains me to leave a negative review on yet another Café Rio, but it's fallen so far. The big issue is that they put finely shredded and extremely wilted lettuce on my salad. The salad lettuce is supposed to be big enough to spear on your fork, and it's definitely not supposed to look like it's been in the fridge for half a week. I asked them what happened to the big lettuce, and they said they would have to cut more lettuce. There were still 3 hours until closing, and the line was full. There was no reason not to cut up another head. Idk. Maybe one of these days I'll stop trying to recreate the glory days.

Love Cafe Rio food and so does all of the other residents of South Jordan- Lol (it was Busssssy!)but always worth the wait! The staff is very accommodating as to how you want your order made and I have never had a bad meal.
