I wouldn't say it's authentic African food but it's a good option for healthy. The chicken is very tender.

My friend and I both ordered the crispy chicken sandwich. The chicken had so much breading it was hard to eat. There was more breading than chicken. It felt like it was going to break one of your teeth because it was so crispy. I picked off most the breading and the sandwich was just ok. Not very much flavor. I was excited about the sweet potato fries and they were just ok as well.

We tried Zulu Grille for the first time tonight, and it was fantastic! The food was light, fresh and delicious! I got the chicken bowl and the the chicken was so flavorful and just as tender as advertised. The restaurant was immaculate and the ambiance was so fun! The staff was friendly and the food came quickly. I also love that they donate a portion of every meal to Home for Hope in South Africa for young woman rescued from human trafficking. We will definitely be back, and I'm telling all my friends about this little gem! Eat good and do good!!

This place is incredible. I didn't know what to expect from South African food, but I got the chicken bowl and it changed my life. The rice aoli and chicken were super flavorful, and not spicy at all. My husband's crispy chicken sandwich with their tricolor potato fries and aoli dipping sauce was also great and we also loved the bread pudding. The texture was perfect and it had just the right level of cinnamon sweetness. I wasn't paying specific attention to their allergy claims, but most of the menu already appears to be gluten free, so I should think this would be celiac-friendly as well. I'm just worried by how little foot traffic there was! Please keep these guys in business ❤️!Vegetarian options: The menu offered a portobello mushroom substitute for meat dishes.Dietary restrictions: Appears to be celiac-friendly. Most of the food appeared to be gluten-free, but I didn't ask about preparation/cross-contamination risks, so you'd want to double check that.
I tried this new, intriguing restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised at the absolute excellent quality of the food! The chicken was succulent & the juiciest I have ever had! The cucumber salad was so good, too! The staff were super friendly as well! I loved it! I highly recommend this eatery!Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetables, rice & grains.Dietary restrictions: If you are limiting your fats & greasy fast food, this is an excellent alternative!Parking: Plenty of parking! Drive-thru is also available.

If you've been to Nandos this isn't the same. So don't go in expecting it. Made that mistake just being hopeful. This place is yum. It has excellent ingredients and a solid menu. We will be back.

Chicken bowl is seriously to die for! I love the yellow rice and don’t forget to get the piri piri sauce. Even my kids love dipping their chicken in the piri piri sauce.Kid-friendliness: They have a kids eat free night!
I have celiac, so I have to find restaurants that can accommodate a gluten-free diet. Zulu has one of the most extensive menus of gluten-free options I’ve seen. I ordered the chicken bowl, and the tricolored fries. The food was a veritable feast of flavor and color. The chicken bowl came with a side of Piri Piri sauce (I went with medium spice, which was a good amount for someone who likes spice but not a mouth on fire), which was a delicious balance of sweet, tangy, and spicy that reminded me of buffalo sauce but better. The tricolored fries came with fry sauce, which I’m always a sucker for. The flavor was like a traditional fry sauce, but even better. As this was my first time, the host was very helpful and explaining the menu, as well as the restaurant’s laudable charitable mission. It was clear that he knew about celiac disease and gluten-free diet requirements— volunteering information about how the kitchen uses separate fryers and equipment for anything marked gluten-free.Zulu Piri Piri Chicken Grille is definitely going to be a regular stop for me whenever I’m back in Utah.Dietary restrictions: Excellent gluten-free options
Ambiance is great and the service was fast and friendly. I love that they donate a portion of each meal. We were even given a free bread pudding sample! That being said, for a place that advertised moist chicken as their specialty, ours was dry. I got the chicken bowl and there was not enough sauce to compensate for the dry chicken and rice. Everything was well seasoned and my husband enjoyed his crispy chicken sandwich, but it was nothing special. Just a chicken sandwich, done well. The tri colored potatoes were tasty.Overall, a solid meal, but lacking the wow factor for additional stars. I would definitely recommend ordering extra sauce for the rice bowl, even though it costs extra.
