The best part of this place is the staff - they're helpful and polite. The Margaritas were strong but otherwise just okay - they were pretty sweet. I was very disappointed in the food. I ordered carne asada medium rare and black beans. The beans were fine but the carne asada was thin, greasy, and wasn't anything better than I could have made at home. If you're looking for standard American-Mexican fare, you'll do fine here. For what I spent though, I probably won't be back.Parking: Plenty of parking.

This is a solid Tex Mex style restaurant with a predictable yet robust menu. I've found them to be very accommodating with food allergies and special requests. The atmosphere is fun and enjoyable.

I have come here dozens of times since moving to Alexandria in 2020 and it is absolutely the best Mexican food in the area. Sure there are great places to jus get tacos, or a great torta, or really good burritos (all of which I talk about in my other reviews). But El Paso restaurant does all of it great! The rice and refried beans taste like home (I am actually from El Paso, Texas!). The main difference from the food back home is the spice level. The food is not very spicy here but I guess that makes sense for the area. But I happy to report that this Mexican gives it five stars and everytime I go, there are many other hispanics enjoying dinner there. So that should give you confidence in how delicious and authentic the food is.My favorites are the enchiladas rancheras, the pollo con mole, the baja fish tacos, and the fajitas! Oh gosh those fajitas! Watch out as they come out steaming hot! So you better order a giant mango margarita!

I love this place. The staff are friendly, the food very tasty, and in the better weather they have a nice outdoor dining area.I haven't had anything I didn't like.Try the mole dishes it's different from most of what I've had. I love it.What ever you try I'm sure it will be good.Vegetarian options: I liked the cactus in a few dishes.Kid-friendliness: They have a good kids menu with several different kinds of offers including a burger and fries.

I've been thinking about El Paso ever since I visited last week! I've had a lot of burritos in my life, but the Hermosa Super Burrito and El Paso is without a doubt my new favorite. Unlike anything I've tried before, this burrito had pork with pineapple and grilled onions, along with the expected fillings. The flavors complimented each other so well! Even better was the sheer size of this thing. I like to eat, and this burrito lasted me three meals. Pictures do no justice to how "super" this thing really is. The true reason I wrong this review is for the service, however. Jose Resino was absolutely wonderful. He anticipated our needs and was so personable. I've never written a review for a server before, but Jose did THAT good of a job. I unfortunately don't live in the area, but the rest of my party returned just a couple days later hoping to be served by Jose again. Next time I'm back in Alexandria, I know where I'm heading first!

If you grew up in a place that had Mexican restaurants, you will immediately recognize this restaurant as the quintessential family Mexican restaurant. The staff is friendly, weekend nights are busy, and the food hits the mark. El Paso is the kind of restaurant you feel good coming to. They have Mexican beer on draft, which is a plus, and even have a little bar for about 4 or 5 people. Outside seating is right on Route 1, so it's not great. Parking is easy though.
