Bad service and the worst Italian food I've ever had. The brunch is not worth it. Food is not replenished when it finishes. There was no "omelette station" waiter to make the omelettes and the desert was pathetic. I should've known better from the outside of the building! In this case "judging a book by its cover" fits! I do not recommend this place. Go to Aldo's Italian Kitchen. This place has nothing on Aldo's!

Don't judge a book by its cover. My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Fratelli's on Van Dorn in Alexandria Virginia today. From the outside... yea it looks like a locally owned restaurant no special pomp and circumstance. Inside it's clean and nicely appointed. Then you get to the food and honestly this rivals some of Washington so-called best Italian restaurants which I will not name here, but if you're Washingtonian and you've been here a while you know them well and they're not as stellar as they used to be. The Chef owner Manuel greeted us as my husband ordered his second enteee for lunch Veal Parmesan after having a delectable nice size portion of Lasagna. Yes that right his second entree. He's a big eater. I had the chicken Parmesan. All three entrées were amazing pasta cooked to perfection.... the cuts of veal and chicken, amazing, and the sauce out of this world. They even make their own in-house dressing which we purchased a separate bottle of to go. If you're used to Washington's normal fair of Italian restaurants, and you really want something different and amazing, don't hesitate....just go!

Excellent on all counts. Really good food, not too pricey, quick and friendly service with no excess chit chat and interrupting a couples' night out. Nice old fashioned Italian feel and ambiance. We'll definitely be back soon.

Fratelli's offers excellent food. Excellent service. I highly recommend it. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly and there is a good selection of Italian food. Everything is fresh and tasty.

The sauce for my chicken piccatta looked like yellow snot. Very unhappy. Despite the convenient location and reasonable cost, we won't be going back to try again.

I don't know why it's taken me so long to review this place. It's fantastic. It really has no weaknesses. The appetizer crab cakes are a smash hit!! The pasta dishes are all top notch. The bread they bring out before the meal is bakery quality. My wife's favorite restaurant in the area and my favorite Italian spot

Great food at great prices. We had the Capellini Pescatore, Pollo Cacciatora and side salads. The pasta came out hot and portion sizes were impressive for the cost. Service was excellent. If I could suggest one thing, it would be for the restaurant to change out the two, wavy lights in the center of the dining room or dim them if possible. They're way too bright and I think it would make a big difference to the ambience in that part of the room.

It's Valentine's night. Putting our young son to bed and preparing to have a nice romantic dinner in our own home since we can't go out. Fratelli listed themselves available on Uber Eats. I ordered around 12 PM to deliver from 7:30-8 and we didn't cook dinner, but the order got cancelled from the restaurant at 7 PM. You have got to be kidding me. Of all days, you chose to ruin our dinner on this one. So disappointing. If you aren't able to fulfill orders, don't list yourself as available to order. If you must cancel, don't do it during the same hour it is supposed to be delivered. Terrible.

We wanted to check out this restaurant for a while and finally we're here for Valentine's. The atmosphere is .. pleasant. Pretty much all you need for your meal - table, chairs, pictures on the wall. The service was very nice, we had at least three different people coming up to us to inquire if we're fine and happy with everything. The wine list was a little simple for an Italian restaurant and 80% of the menu contained seafood or bacon. They serve freshly made mini bread with olive oil and parmesan. My husband had homemade pasta with spinach and ricotta, that turned out to be raviolis. I had salmon served with veggies and cucumber ?, that turned out to be a salmon on a kinda Greek salad with a dressing on the side.

It's Valentine's night. Putting our young son to bed and preparing to have a nice romantic dinner in our own home since we can't go out. Fratelli listed themselves available on Uber Eats. I ordered around 12 PM to deliver from 7:30-8 and we didn't cook dinner, but the order got cancelled from the restaurant at 7 PM. You have got to be kidding me. Of all days, you chose to ruin our dinner on this one. So disappointing. If you aren't able to fulfill orders, don't list yourself as available to order. If you must cancel, don't do it during the same hour it is supposed to be delivered. Terrible.

We've eaten at this quaint restaurant several times over the years. The meals are always tasty and plentiful. Our early St. Valentine Day eve lunch was perfect. Great food, great music and great service. Give them a try. You'll write another 5-star review.
