A small, no-frills Japanese restaurant. My Salmon Teriyaki dinner ($20.95) had two generous portions of salmon, cooked just the way I wanted, and included a cup of miso soup and a small salad.

Loved how the place was decorated, loved the food. I got the unagidon - it was literally just a big slab of eel over rice. It was INCREDIBLE.

The food is on point, it is delicious in every way but the experience is awful. We watched two tables just get up and leave. We would have left ourselves but thought that we were just being hangry. This place has abandoned menues and forces you to use your mobile on the worst website in Old Town Alexandria. While trying to order we were all kicked out of the app several times finally we gave up and place the order using a single device.

Highly Recommend. If I can give it 10 I would. Me and my boyfriend visited here 3 times within the week. Sushi is good...fresh and served in a timely manner and prices are great! Parking garage in 2 minutes walking distance, if you can't park right on the street.

We stopped in for a quick sake bomb (authentic style with the shot balanced on the chop sticks with pounding on the table required). I feel like they put up with us but not necessarily happy we were thereSpicy tuna roll was good but too much old COVID signs are still up and the atmosphere suffers because of it.Great food but sad atmosphere 4/5

This was my second time ordering delivery and i wanted to try something different i was looking forward to the octopus salad and was disappointed at how small this came out to be. It looks like a garnish.

Definitely an excellent sushi ? joint. Great gourmet quality with great service. Menu selection is fantastic and the prices are a bit reasonable. Place can be a bit tight though. Parking is metered only. Definitely coming back again!

This is THE BEST sushi i have ever had. Bring your mom, your grandmom, your kids, that one vegan friend yall don’t really like. Bring them all. I ordered the black dragon roll and I will never be the same. This was a spiritual experience. Please— give these kind people your life savings. You wont regret it. Would give a 6/5 if i could

My stomach decided it wanted sushi a little later in the evening, so I deduced to make the drive to Ichiban Sushi House. It seems like most people order to-go, but the restaurant was clean, and the staff was on top of their game. They also have this cool chilled Saki bottle? Container? I don't know. It was blue, and cool looking. Regardless, Ichiban will take care of all your sushi needs. Solid choice.

Place has high rating so i tried this out. My sister and i were the only ones in there on Wed 4:03p and we ordered 2 rolls, a volcano and old town roll. Took 20 mins for 3 sushi chefs. Sushi was 3 stars, service is slow.

Not the greatest but not the worst. Even if owners have changed....this has been my go to sushi spot when I visit from Cali for almost 20 years, so I always gotta make my pit stop. Glad it's still open!

I ordered the Volcano role which is supposed to be a crunchy spicy yellowtail roll topped with tuna Dan salmon. Looks like they just left out the tuna and only put crunch inside! Also the goyza was a cheap frozen brand. I don't necessarily expect fresh goyza but this is was an especially cheap on.

Service ruined an otherwise perfect weekens getaway. Would rate it a -10 if we could. Here goes…asked for a table for 10 waited a few minutes for them to setup and sat down. All good so far. Ordered drinks and food via their app (as instructed at table) and waited 30 minutes until we had to finally asked for our drinks. We had also ordered a bunch of apps which surprised us it took so long to come. All the while, two servers stood around the sushi bar/kitchen never attending to any of the customers. Another 10 minutes later, they brought out food in TAKEOUT BAGS! After telling them we’re dining in, she took the bags back hastily and with attitude to unpack and re-serve the dishes. Never uttering am apology or accepting responsibility. Dropped each plate one by one without saying a word (with attitude no less). Until the last dish: “that’s everything” was the only words ever uttered. WOW. This was the worst service I have ever experienced anywhere in the world. Old town Alexandria is a lovely place we’ve frequented for years. Don’t let this place ruin your day/weekend/vacation like they did ours. Plenty of other fantastic places nearby including Japanese.

This has been my go to sushi spot but tonight was truly disappointing and I'm rethinking ever coming back. After placing an online order where they stated my order would be ready in 20 minutes, I arrived at the restaurant where no one could give me an update on my order. Then, I was told my order would take an extra 45 minutes or I could cancel. When I opted to cancel my order, they said I would have to contact my bank to receive a refund. That is absolutely unacceptable! If they were too busy to accommodate any new orders or it would take over an hour they should have specified that when I placed the order. I was not the only one waiting for an order and we all experienced this level of rudeness and unapologetic service. Parking in this area is also not ideal which adds another level of frustration when having to wait for an order while being threatened with an $80 ticket.
