Let us save you. Risotto was just yuck. Made with really odd seemingly frozen veggies. Broccoli ? Also tasted like fish stock as a base. Family of 5- ravioli (my son got sick), shellfish dishes were just eh. Veal scallopini was tough and chewy. Ugh. Just disappointing all around. Skip this place.

We had dinner here last night after a long day seeing the cherry blossoms. Such a charming and quaint atmosphere. The food is amazing!!! The service is fantastic!! I had been here before and was happy to come back. If you are in the area, make sure to make a reservation. My favorite restaurant in Alexandria!
Il Porto met all our expectations for what is a superb Italian meal. In addition, Jesus was a wonderful host and took exquisite care of us and his recommendations were great. I am from Spain, and I would return whenever I could.

The service and atmosphere were on point but the food left a lot to be desired. I had the seafood risotto, the risotto was crunchy and the shrimp was heavily chlorinated. The bread and scallops were great but did not carry the show. The meal itself was $50 and I would have expected a lot more for the price. This place is extremely mediocre for what it offered.
