I liked the atmosphere and the service too, the lady who served us at the cashier was very friendly and answered our questions about some of the dishes we had.To be very honest, I didn't like the coffee. I ordered a latte with caramel and a very artificial taste, the milk was watered down, the latte had no consistency.I ordered a sandwich and it was delicious, and I accompanied it with a delicious cold pasta. My companion ordered a toast with avocado, it was good but very simple for the price (that's my opinion)And what looks like a tartlet with spinach to my taste lacked a little more flavor, more salt perhaps. The sweets were delicious, I ordered a mini lemon pie and it was super delicious, also a muffin with Nutella.

What a great place! I had a café latte and the Crêpe la Madeleine. Both were excellent! I didn't get to try anything from the bakery/pastry counter, but everything in there looked delicious! Friendly staff, tasty food, fun French atmosphere. Parking in the area is tough, but there is a parking garage that is extremely affordable! ($1/hr or $5/hr for the day!) The entire area is quaint and historical, so come to La Madeleine and then spend the whole day in Old Town Alexandria! I'll definitely be back! ?

Our office is across the street from this location, and for several years pre-COVID I would carry out breakfast or lunch from La Madeleine several times a month. It was always consistently good food, you knew what you were going to get. Since our company is still 100% remote, I have not been here in 4 years. Being in the office today, I decided to get a couple of my favorites from back in the day, and ordered an eggwhite omelette with veggies for breakfast. It was barely edible and really greasy. I was really thrown by this, I'm not sure how that happens with eggwhites and veggies?? For lunch I got a cup of french onion soup and a spinach salad with chicken. The soup was supposed to come with croutons and swiss cheese, it had neither. Just onions and broth. The salad was terrible. I had to pick through it and throw out all the chicken, which was soft and watery, had no flavor to speak of, and seemed more the texture of tofu. Over a third of the spinach in my salad was a very dark green, wilted and disgusting, so I was only able to eat about half of it. Sorry to say, I was very disappointed, annoyed that I wasted $40, and I will definitely not be carrying out from here again!

I visited here for the first time. My experience was very welcoming and inviting. The food was delicious as well. Lovely atmosphere to relax and enjoy a cappuccino while you’re at it! Imagining I’m in France at this sweet and cozy French cafe!

Ok. This is the place for great European type pastry. I must stop by just for them. I am a chocolate freak and they do not disappoint. We also like the pecan as well. Parking can be a challenge sometimes in old town Alexandria. There is a paid parking garage directly underneath it. During evenings and weekends, it is really reasonably priced to park. I will park there for any activity and pickup something sweet on the way back to the garage. Check it out.

Great place for a quick lunch and convenient to the hotel we were staying in. Loved their quiches and the tomato basil soup so much that we bought some of each to take home with us.

I came here a couple of years ago and really loved it. Came back today and ordered an omelette. It was completely drenched in oil and liquids. I could only eat half. I took a picture but there's no option to post. The only redeeming food was in the bakery. The staff was friendly on that side and the baked goods look delicious. Hope they taste awesome when we eat them later.

Margaret is very rude to customers. I heard her give a customer an attitude for asking where she should pick up her order.

I've come here a few times, I am from out of town but my work is in Alexandria. I stay at the Alexandrian hotel and this is my #1 go-to for breakfast whenever I'm in town. The food is delicious, and the coffee is excellent. I love the little tables and decor too. Really feels like a cozy space!

What a complete $hit show. I'm sure they have the parade in the past. You guys have no idea what's going on, multiple locations to order, no tables AND CAN YOU POSSIBLY MAKE IT ANY HOTTER INSIDE?!Someone brought their dog inside, no one said anything even when it started barking
