Such a wonderful evening for an impromptu celebration! Festive, fun, delicious but also comfortable and relaxing - a perfect evening. Second time having their steak frites and it is always a winner.

Evening Star is hit or miss! We liked about half of the dishes we ordered. I was given soup without a spoon and the soup was getting cold by the time the spoon arrived. The server told us they only had 2 servers for the entire restaurant that night (including outdoors) so service was not very attentive. We really like this spot but it's inconsistent with quality and service.

Needs a good cleaning - dirty tables and dirty floors; service slow and inexperienced; dreary unventilated eating area; they either used dirty old oil or griddle to high- food served overcooked on the outside but French toast still uncooked in the middle and hashed browns served looking like dark brown mess; tart warm coffee served. Based on the condition of the inside of this restaurant, I presume the attached bar is the moneymaker. I would skip it if ambiance and food appearance matters.

While the food was flavorful and had good portions, our service was unfortunately lacking. We could tell the restaurant was very busy but our server seemingly forgot about us and we had to flag him down a few times to get what we needed. Our entrees also took about 40 mins or so, and even though we were seated at 7:30, we didn't leave until after 9pm which is a long time for a dinner for 2.

A great place, excellent wine, and a big thanks to the bartender Amir for taking such terrific care of us!

Wonderful time at Evening Star! Haven't been in years and so happy to be back. Lively yet also cozy atmosphere. Food was delicious: Outstanding steak frites. Great drinks. Malted chocolate mousse was amazing.

I ordered the avocado toast sandwich with a side order of grits. It was very good. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits. When it was brought out, our eyes almost popped out of our heads. It was such a small amount in the bowl. I gave him my grits so that he could have enough to eat, the grits and shrimp were good but the amount that they served was far less than what he had gotten at other places.

There are some wonderful additions to the menu (e.g. the beef fat soaked almonds, NY Strip, Pork, Bavette). However I had some old favorites (like the Octopus appetizer) which have disappeared, and too many new “breaded” southern type of selections

Evening Star has been a dependably top-notch dining experience since it opened. The food is excellent. I had the pork chop, which was great; my wife had the duck pot pie, which was unique and great. Our server was great, as the service has been every time we've visited. Highly recommended.

I do love Evening Star, but lastnight was disappointing, especially for the price of my meal. I ordered the 3 course Valentine's menu for $75. I chose the lobster ravioli appetizer, scallops for the main, and chocolate mousse for dessert. Overall, it was underwhelming. The single ravioli was served atop of sliced potatoes in a cream sauce. Tasty, but small portion. The 3 good sized scallops while cooked perfectly, were served atop of the same potatoes. I wish there has been a vegetable or some other accompaniment than potatoes again! The chocolate mousse dessert was honestly my favorite part. My husband ordered off the regular menu and I thought his food was much better. I'll definitely return but will stick to the regular menu offerings instead of a holiday special. We also had drinks in the lounge/bar area and they were good!

Wilmer is a great server. He gave very honest and straightforward advice about the menu and did not steer us wrong. He should be in charge of the dessert menu because he has impeccable taste in desserts, especially! We love the atmosphere at Evening Star and generally like the food. We tried a few new things for restaurant week and didn't love them all, but at least we tried! We'll definitely be back!

Evening Star always provides a consistently great experience and this time was no exception. The added value of the extensive Restaurant Week menu made the experience that much better.

Came for the Restaurant Week special. Very noisy dining room, menu was intriguing, service was kirt. Salad was good, friend liked the wings, my pasta had watery sauce, and his burger had excellent fries. Getting drunk refills wasn't responded to promptly. Server all but disappeared once we were done. Overall, meh.

Evening Star never disappoints, and their restaurant week menu was *actually* a deal (unlike some restaurants). Food was great, service was top notch, and it was the perfect warm and cozy ambiance to unwind after a long, snowy week.

Just moved to the area and really enjoyed this spot that’s walking distance from our home. They had the football game on, which we were looking for. Bartender was friendly, attentive, and let us know about the upstairs + different events happening. Food was the perfect portion and we enjoyed the spicy chicken sandwich, tomato soup, wings, and burger. We cannot wait to return due to the ambiance, friendly staff, and food/bar drinks. 100/100 would recommend.
