Baked beans were good and the smoked wings were decent. The pulled pork was awful. It had no flavor and tasted like it had been cooked days before and reheated in the oven. I was highly disappointed. The pulled pork was my main course and couldn’t even eat it.

The experience was so bad I felt compelled to write a review.Let me preface by saying I loved this place. But after today I won’t ever be coming back. The quality of the food has drastically gone down as well as their customer service. Ex. The ribs I got were cold and dry and my husband’s brisket was dry and bland. Their sauces are also terrible now. One tasted like maple syrup with water. They have also become super overpriced…I get it inflation but A friend of ourselves got the pulled pork sandwich and for an additional $3.50 you could get a small portion of cold slaw for your sandwich. Really?I could have gone to Famous Dave’s and got better bbq then this place….Lesson: Save your money and stomach

This restaurant must be under new management. The food lacks the flavor and quality that it had prior to COVID. They are serving mix drinks in the can. We were given paper cups and the wait staff needs more training. I use to really enjoy this place and often recommended this place to out of towners as a DMV staple. Myron may need to come save this place.

This place was on my “want to visit” list and one of the reasons why I came to Alexandria from NYC. I had Smoked brisket with Mama’s slaw. The food was delicious, meat was tender and melting in my mouth. Slaw was one of the tastiest I’ve ever tried. The place is heaven for meat lovers. I wish I stayed more in the city and tried other items from the menu.

The chicken and sausage were delicious. Also would recommend peach bbq baked beans.

The meal came with a lemonade that at first seemed too sweet. However, when you still have the exquisite taste of one of Myron's amazing sauces on your tongue it hits perfectly. All I'm all the smokiness, moisture, and textures of the meats (chicken, pork, beef) were some of the best BBQ I've ever tasted. 15/10 would eat again.

We used to be regulars at Myrons, but the place has gone way downhill since they made some big changes back in January. It used to be a great hands down 5 star BBQ dining experience....the absolute best! Now it's 2-3 stars at best. The large venue is almost always empty now, even on busy Friday and Saturday nights, which unfortunately tells you the whole story. They reconfigured the front entrance to look like a take out joint. The mac and cheese is no where near as good at it used to be. Prices are higher and the menu is now much more limited (and the menu strangely confusing to read now). They raised prices (as most places have with inflation) and also give you less fixins with the meals like the BBQ Ribs (shrinkflation). The servers are very nice. They now strangely serve these very flimsy paper cups?....like can't they give a real cup when your dining in?. They also add a 3% "service fee" (not tip) to your bill. When i asked what the fee was they said it was to cover the credit card fee, but they automatically put it on your bill before they even know if your paying with credit or cash. Please undo these recent changes and return to the awesome BBQ place it used to be.

Myron Mixon’s in Alexandria has really changed, for the worse. I am originally from Texas, but have been Living here for 2 years now. My son introduced me to Myron Mixon’s place, as he is a huge fan and follower. So, I started taking my friends and family when they would visit me from Texas. Always a hit! I took a friend there today, for the first time. It was such a disappointment. The menu is different, as a lot of the items have been removed. While I do understand we are facing inflation, change the prices, not the menu. A lot of the favorites were gone. We got our plates within 3 minutes and the meat was cold. the service was mediocre. I asked the waiter for more water and the waiter told me “ let me call the other guy because I am already off the clock.” Where I come from, good manners guide you to help the customer or at least walk away and call the other waiter. But he gladly told us he was off the clock and took off. I am trying to stay positive and believe that he may have been very tired, understandable. We are huge bar b q fans and are extremely picky. We have always been so content with Myron’s place in Alexandria, but today, I was embarrassed and apologetic to my friend since this time around was different. The menu, the food, the service, etc., all below average. We were able to google a new place in Leesburg that we will visit now. I am hoping the long drive to Leesburg is worth it! I Hope someone else has a better experience, as Myron is known for his food!

Thanks to James from Comfort One Shoes, we just ate some of the BEST BBQ around. James recommended Myron Mixon's Pitmaster BBQ, which was just around the corner from his store. All three of us ordered pulled pork sandwiches and we all ordered a different side PLUS the peachy beans, because it all sounded to good to leave anything out.The pork was juicy and tender, piled high on what I think was a brioche bun. Cole slaw as a topper is a must have. There were three different sauces on the table to chose from: A spicy mustard based, a vinegar based and then a sweet based. My fav was the sweet one, although I did taste all three. The sides are amazing! Peachy baked beans, collard greens, cole slaw, mac and cheese. All equally delicious and unique. The corn bread cakes are served with a sweet butter to top it all off.The waitress was friendly and efficient and the meal made it to the table quickly.5 STARS!

Excellent BBQ, we started with the dry rub wings, very tasty with a nice honey sweetness, Mixon sells the dry rub at the restaurant. We both had the brisket, tasty and cooked just right. I had the BBQ beans, the peaches in the beans make for a very sweet tasty BBQ bean with some heat to counter the sweetness. Located a few blocks off of King St. well worth the trip. Eva the hostess/server was great a real southern treat.

wow, what a bust. from a 5 star food experience (from past visits) to 1 star. no table service, order via a QR code where you can't tell the portion sizes at all, reheated, unseasoned food arrives about 2 minutes later. And the default tip is 20%! never going back. too bad, this used to be a special place to go.

This used to be a favorite BBQ place, However, after today, we won't return. The owner decided to remove menus and eliminate the need for customers to interact with staff. If I want to order and pay by phone for delivery, I will stay home and get better food elsewhere. As a "bonus", we finished the meal with a defrosted, mushy banana pudding. Extremely disappointed.

Hubby & I were on one of many dates & he suggested MM. Mannnnn some of the best BBQ my palate had had the pleasure of meeting!!! The deviled eggs were top notch & the Peach Baked Beans were unforgettable!! The Brisket was tender and juicy as were the fall off the bone ribs. I will definitely be taking the trip from DC again to savor these flavors!

This used to be a great place. New changes have made this restaurant very disappointing. Plastic silverware, o fountain drinks only bottled drinks from a cooler. No longer serving liquor. No appetizers and very few desserts remain.we will not return.
