I was in the area and was looking for a place to sit down and have a quick dinner. I decided I wanted some Thai food and found Sugar Palm. The restaurant was quite empty except for one or two tables that were occupied. It didn't give me a great feeling, but it was a week night so I gave them the benefit of the doubt. Service was quick and they came to take my order soon after I was seated. I ordered the kao soi from their menu which I enjoyed along with the spring roll that they brought out. Overall, the food was tasty.

Food was great, not the best customer, it wasn't a very warm welcoming but if you are in the area and want Thai food to take out , this is the spot or maybe I just went in at their down time..

I visited this place after leaving the spa today, I do not recommend this place for those of color ( black patrons). I wish I would have looked at the previous review before spending my money. The food was pretty good, however the blatant racism was felt from the moment we walked in the door. The owner/cook was very rude and mean and clearly did not want us patronizing in his restaurant. We ordered our food to go, however we decided to eat at the bar once the food came out. The restaurant was empty er were the only customers. The rude owner came out and said next time you need to dine in. He was very nasty! My friend asked him for an additional sauce and he told her no tolled his eyes and went to the back, I will never ever eat there again and if you are black you should not spend your money there.

My friend and I stopped there after our spa day and we were greeted first by the host who was …somewhat helpful. My friend and I went to sit at the bar and when we were ready to order, we were told we had to walk back to the host stand to do so. First red flag. We waited for our food and while waiting, an employee walked out and was entirely rude to us for the rest of our visit. He first asked us why did we get a to go order and sit at the bar. It was during lunch and there were no other customers at the time. Definitely didn’t think it would be a big deal. He rolled his eyes and walked back to the kitchen. The same employee then walks back out and I asked for some additional sauce for the spring rolls I ordered. I offered to pay and he flatly said no and walked away. Honestly had we not paid beforehand, we would’ve just left. Another couple walked in who was not black and that very same employee had an entirely different attitude towards them. He was welcoming and warm when they walked in. I hate bringing race into it, however I’ve seen a few other reviews from black patrons and it seems to be a pattern. While the food was decent, you can get better Thai food with far superior service for ALL elsewhere. I would NEVER recommend this place. Do better de

Your typical hole-in-the-wall restaurant. No frills, but great food! My crispy duck basil was par for the course!

The food was okay but there are better Thai restaurants around. Something seemed lacking.

This was my favorite new lunch place because I could actually afford it. After ordering for one month, they have increased the prices. $16 plus tax is ridiculous for a bed of noodles and some veggies. I am vegan and do not even eat meat. $13.95 to 15.95 makes a big difference in this day and age. I get that business costs have also risen, but not by much for noodles and vegetables or rice and plain veggies. I will no longer order from here because a tab over $20 for a no frills lunch (the drunken noodles with only veggies is what I ordered regularly) and a smaller portion than other restaurants. Sad for me because I just found this gem. Thanks for the 4 good meals I ordered when it was worth the price! If you make lunch specials, perhaps I will reconsider ordering from the restaurant.

I used to love this place. It was my go to thai, best calamari ever. Unfortunately it has gone stale the past couple of years. First the calamari and then slowly everything else My last to orders were just terrible Even the Tom kha soup was lacking flavor, rubbery calamari and coconut shrimp, drunken noodles were terrible I had to be drunk to eat them Will be searching for a new thai place

The duck rolls were great and so was the Kua Gai (Stir fried noodles with chicken, egg and green onions). My friend had Tom Kha soup, which he enjoyed.I ordered the crispy pork belly with Chili Basil. This dish was a bit of a disappointment. The pork belly was overcooked and pretty tough. I doubt I would order it again.

Different but delicious! I ordered this from GrubHub while staying in town. Even with a decent delivery time, everything was hot and fresh. Why I say it's different is because the chicken Pad Thai was made with thin noodles and was definitely on the more savory side. Not saying it's bad at all, just not what I'm used to! Still very tasty and the portions were great! I looked at pics here on Yelp and I feel like I did get a different type of noodle. No worries though, still enjoyed it. I also grabbed their summer rolls. I like these with a good peanut sauce. Sugar Palm's summer rolls comes with two sauces. A clear, maybe vinegar type sauce, then peanut sauce. I wasn't a huge fan of their peanut sauce. It was very very sweet. Almost like brown sugary? I preferred the clear sauce that had a slight heat. Much better flavor with the veggies in the wrapper. Overall I'm glad I tried it. I will probably try some other places in the area, but this is a good contender.
