Hidden little gem of Old Town Alexandria! The staff is always friendly and the food is always cooked to perfection! The Spicy Basil Fried Rice is DELICIOUS!

Best Thai food available anywhere! Their crispy duck with basil is my favorite dish ever. Their duck rolls are amazing. Everything my family has ever had at Thanida Thai is perfect. And prices are lower than all other Thai restaurants in Old Town. Service is superb. They will custom any dish to your specifications. We love the ambience in Thanida. Small but accommodating. Wait staff very engaged. All in all, the best restaurant in Alexandria. Our go-to for holiday, celebrations or just night out. Fabulous!!!!

Fantastic quality, great pricing. The portions are also satisfying. One of my favorite Thai places in Alexandria because of the balanced offer and the authenticity of the food.

This was the first time I ordered from Thanida Thai, so I didn't have any concept for what their standard servings were. That said, I was surprised to see the portion size--the hand-sized container being less than half full. I immediately took a picture to send to a friend, wondering if this was normal. I figured there was some mistake, so I called the restaurant and asked if I should expect to have the takeaway container less than half full. They said yes. It was good, but for 15.95, I was disappointed.

I'm thrilled to express my complete satisfaction with my experience at this restaurant. I had the opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal that truly nourished my body. When I ordered the shrimp fried rice to go, my favorite dish, I was impressed by the generous amount of shrimp they included. The taste and portion size were outstanding, and it was definitely worth the price. I'm proud to have chosen this place, and I look forward to returning in the future.

Food was really a disappointment. Duck roll mushy! Broccoli and beef over salted. Seafood not fresh and papaya salad void of any taste. Bad!Customer service almost mirrors food quality. No smiles from hosts and servers. Not the Thai service I'm used to across the board.

Live around the corner and have been grabbing food from Thanida Thai now for the past 5 years or so. The staff is always so friendly whenever we opt to dine in, although I tend to pick up to-go. We regularly split an order of Pad Thai and a smattering of appetizers; love the gyoza, kanom jeeb and duck rolls. The food here is excellent across the board and I can't recommend Thanida Thai enough.

Food is tasty. Satisfying portions. Fresh ingredients. Had the beef drunken noodle, crispy duck salad, garden rolls, and fried gyoza. No complain but I will warn the the sauce on the crispy duck salad is an acquired taste. It's heavy on the fish sauce. Service was not impressive. They did seem a bit unorganized and disinterested when you coming in but they were good about not letting your food sit, which I appreciate so much. They asked if I wanted chopsticks, which is another plus. I did take out this time but I don't see myself dining in anytime soon.

The food is always good except for a few times when the meat wasn't well seasoned but overall I get the same dish. For the 1-3 yrs I have been going here routinely they have yet to update the prices in their menu! So when you order food for one price, your bill has another price and they say the price has increased by a dollar. Well please take the time to update your menu in the restaurant AND online! I have patronized faithfully for a long time it this is ridiculous.

Not Real

This restaurant screws locals over with additional fees that they call "tax". And the owner had the nerve to yell at us for questioning his tax rate.

This restaurant is a super easy walk from the Sheraton a few blocks away and is open until 9:30pm most nights. The ambiance is quaint, but nice. I liked the music choice of the staff. The service was to the point, and they seemed to be polite about us cutting it close to closing time. I ordered the pad see ew and sweet and sour chicken. The pad see ew was quite good. The chicken was cooked well, and the sauce was sweet and savory. It was not too oily or smoky. The sweet and sour chicken was pretty good, as well. It was white meat chicken (which I love), but the batter was just a little bit burnt and tasteless. It was still fairly good, but the sweet and sour sauce could use just a little more thickness and sweetness to it. It was a bit watery and didn't adhere to the chicken very well. The dish was still pretty good, though. I also ordered some spring rolls, which were extremely good. The filling tasted fresh and light. They cut them open so that the inside doesn't scorch your mouth when you try to eat it. Our work team was pretty happy with their meals. We tried to order some dessert, but they were out of the mango rice and some other items. We ended up with the coconut ice cream, which my coworker really liked. My coworkers also particularly loved the calamari appetizer.

Came here for dinner on a Saturday night and the food was AMAZING! We found street parking right outside the restaurant. The ambiance is quiet and a small dining setting, but still great for dinner. I started with the Thai Iced Tea which was great! For entrees we got ginger broccoli tofu, basil chicken (pad kra prao), and chicken pad Thai. Everything was SO GOOD. The basil chicken we got two orders, one medium spicy (I think this is the standard) and extra spicy. The medium spicy was perfect for me but the spicy was great too! The pad Thai was flavorful, highly recommend (I think this was our groups favorite !!)!!! The service was fast and our food came out without too long of a wait. This will definitely be my go to Thai spot! I preferred here over Sisters Thai.

Best Thai I’ve had near DC. Friendly, fast service, and the food is delicious - especially their Gai Bod and all of their green curry dishes. Call them to order pick up - better prices and faster service than Uber or Door Dash.

I come here often for lunch. Service is always great, everything comes out super quickly. Food is always hot and delicious. The gyoza are some of the best I’ve had.

The service here was horrible. We waited for about 50 mins for our food. The waitress was cold and unimpressive. She didn’t check in on us or even try to make us feel comfortable. It seemed like she was annoyed with us. The staff was too busy working on online orders. They didn’t seem bothered by the ones dining in. There was a time when I looked around and realized nobody had food on the table. Everyone around us was losing patience. Some tables were seated and were just waiting around for someone to just take there order, give them water at the least. I don’t recommend dining here due to the extremely poor service. Food was decent but I’ve had better Thai.
