Best ramen in NoVA. Get the spicy black miso ramen, you will not be disappointed! Prices are reasonable, portions are just right and service is excellent.Only downside is that this place is only open a few days out of the week so check their hours before you get all excited for ramen.

Stopped here to have dinner on our way back to MD and the ramen was one of the best we've ever had. My child and I both had the tonkotsu ramen only exception was I had spicy version and my child did not. I also got the kimchi which was fantastic. The staff was very polite. Food was a reasonable price. Everything was delicious. Definitely would recommend this place to others and will return next time we're in VA.

I recommend Gaijin for the food but not for their service. Many items were unavailable like the vegetable ramen and ginger ale, or so we were told. I understand that there are supply chain issues in the world but that obviously was not the problem here. We were seated by the kitchen so I could hear what the cooks were saying to the waitstaff. Some of those items were ordered by people who came in after us and the cooks said ok but no more after this. I don't focus on the drama which is why I still say 4 stars, instead I let the food do the talking. To me it said, "Don't pass up this ramen, very good."

The veggie ramen is the best meal I've ever had I would honestly die for this place. Definitely recommend!!!

Drove from pleasant hill to Sebastopol to try the ramen. We're two foodies so we have pretty educated tongues . Ramen was mediocre, broth flat , did not have that wonderful pork flavor . Pork was also tasteless, a dry log with no fat, uninspired. Half an egg for $19, Really? The baus were pretty good but at $5.00 ea. , incredibly overpriced , should be $3. Only other thing was , we asked Jessica, to be hopefully generous with the caramel that's served with the ice cream, and what came out was , literally, a teaspoon if we were lucky. This is a pet peeve of ours , if a server comes out 5 minutes after the course is served , you can say something and hopefully correct, but if you're asked how it was after you've finished it , no time to correct. How expensive is caramel? God, for $9.00 , don't you think you could be alittle generous ? This is on whoever trained the staff. Hoped I could be more positive , but there's really nothing that would bring us back . Great for Sebastopol, unacceptable for down south , i. e ., Oakland , Walnut Creek , etc.

I waited two hours for my food to come on Uber eats. Ramen was not worth the wait, too salty and didn't give me the satisfaction I wanted. HOWEVER, the crispy chicken bao buns are no joke. I wish I just ordered 4 or 6 of these for my meal. These are what made me want to order from the restaurant and these are bumping the rating up because without these, I would give a three. If you're looking for a great snack, try these sweet, spicy, and crunchy buns out.

needed a place to eat and stumbled upon this place. Parking wasn't easy to find, ended up on a random residential street. Nobody was in the store which is always a good/bad sign. At least we didn't have to wait. Overall food was just mediocre. The bubble tea was TERRIBLE. Don't waste money and stomach space for this.. I got the ramen which was decent but had better. The sauce was thick and way too salty. The vegetables were pretty much raw, I didn't mind it but most people probably wouldn't enjoy it. If i'm back in the area, I'll try somewhere else before coming back here again.

It takes us an hour and a half to get here and it's worth every minute. I love the Sumo Mama. Everything is delicious.

Good ramen that won't break the bank. Very fast service. Interior could use a bit of TLC. One third of the lobby is taken up with kitchen supplies. I like that they carry uncommon foreign beer, such as Sapporo black. I'd go here more often if I lived closer.

Ordered on Uber eats: edamame, vegetable gyoza, gaijin garlic ramen, and tonkotsu ramen. Food arrived hot and fresh, the broth is amazing, gaijin original spicy paste is SO good and flavorful and also very very spicy. Highly recommend this place, I would dine in/order again.

This place is great, great food, great service, great ambience, but man is it expensive. For an appetizers I got the takoyaki tots. I was lured on by the fact that it had a "as seen on bravo" marker on it. Honestly it was just tots with fancy sauce. Nothing about it made it very "takoyaki" which are octopus balls. I would have rather gotten real takoyaki or fries at that point. The ramen was very good but at the end you're paying for a like $20 bowl of ramen. I suggest skipping on anything with pork belly (it's very mediocre and expensive) and going for the charsui instead. Otherwise the spicy tonkatsu broth was good and the noodles were a prefect texture. When in arlington and someone else is paying, maybe I'll come again. Ps, marumen is still my favorite.

Service was great! I had the Southern Comfort and it was definitely a comfort to my soul! The Buns were fantastic and I could eat those all day every day!

I've ordered from this place twice and it's disappointed me both times. Ramen is too salty and overcooked. Lacks flavor and is overpriced.
