Sofia's Pupuseria is delicious every time I go - a favorite spot on Columbia Pike. Great pupusas, delicious plantains, and a variety of Latin/Salvadorian options. I also like the comfortable, laidback atmosphere there. If you are the kind of person who needs to spend $50-$100 for a fine-dining, Michelin star experience, then this is not the place for you. The meals are served on styrofoam plates on plastic trays. But if you let that hold you back from trying Sofia's, then you are truly missing out on some incredible flavors. Give it a try - you won't regret it!

Excellent family atmosphere, must try the pupusas!
A coworker recommended this place for lunch. We had tacos, and they are good. I was not fond of the atmosphere, but since I liked the tacos, I decided to give it a chance. They had Salvadoran style soups, healthy and as my mom likes them, so I took her there in the evening. We'll, I liked the atmosphere even less. The soups were good, although we had to wait for them for a very looooong time. I would not go back to eat there, but maybe just do a carryout.

I didn’t know pupusas have to be fried we ordered pupusas taste was mostly oil, they were crispy because they fried them in oil it’s just disgusting to taste pupusas like this, idk if I can call them pupusas we ended up throwing them in the trash I won’t recommend this place.
