Went back to the Commentary for their pizza making class and OMG! Insanely good! The instructor was hilarious, the pizza and drinks were delicious, and the energy was top tier. I'll definitely be back for another experience with them

My partner and I enjoyed a meal on the patio of the Commentary. We were seated by Nishat who was incredibly pleasant and took the time to discuss the menu with us. He recommended some new items which we decided to try. We started with the shishito peppers and ceviche Del Mar. Although a simple dish, the peppers were prepared expertly and were unlike other appetizers I’ve had before. They were flavorful and the sauce had a just enough of a kick. The ceviche is incredibly fresh and citrusy. It is different than typical ceviches, the ingredients meld well together and the yucca chips accompany the dish well. We both tried the poblano burger which by far is the best burger I’ve ever eaten. The meat is juicy, the toppings are fresh, and the addition of the poblano slices made this the perfect spring/summer burger. All in all this was an amazing meal to enjoy outside on the patio. The service was wonderful, Jose was sure to check in and also offered his recommendations (the poke bowl). We will definitely be back!

My friends and I had breakfast at this restaurant some time ago and had a great experience there. The restaurant had a trendy decor with white walls and light wooden furniture, and many seating options provided a stylish ambiance. The breakfast buffet had a good variety of fresh and delicious options, and it was a great deal for the price. The buffet also included coffee, tea, or juice, so we had nothing to complain about. Additionally, the restaurant offers a la carte breakfast options for those who prefer to avoid having the buffet. The service was good, too, and we plan on returning to enjoy more weekend breakfasts at this restaurant.

What a surprise treat-- it could not have been a better overall experience. The only problem was that our departure time the next day was too early to have dinner there again. Thank you!

Such good service! Friendly staff, always so helpful and looking for ways to make your day special- Celine always brings me a “to-go” cup for coffee. It’s the little extra steps they take that make it

One of my girlfriends and I came to a pizza making and craft cocktail class on Saturday. We had such a great time. Let's start with the Commentary is located in the Westin in the Ballston Commons area. There are many Glebe Roads in VA, so follow your GPS directions and not your passenger, lol. Also the Westin is right on the corner. I had no idea it was inside a hotel, so almost missed the entrance.Once inside, we were seated at a table as we waited for the class to start. When the class was ready, we each had a station with a dough ball and a floured pizza peel. The instructor was a little Italian lady who showed us how to shape and form the dough, add the sauce and the ideal way to add toppings. After she finished, it was our turn. She walked around to make sure everyone's dough was properly stretched and shaped for ultimate baking. We then added the marinara sauce and as much or little toppings as we wanted. We had fresh mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage, chicken, ham, shrimp, spinach, mushrooms and freshly shaved parmesan cheese to choose from. When we were done with the toppings, the pizzas were put in the oven, and we were off to make a cocktail. We were able to choose if we wanted to make a drink of gin, tequila or bourbon. The drink cards were large and written so they could be easily followed. Our bartender instructor was funny and taught us the basics of making and mixing cocktails. By the time we were done making our drinks, our pizzas were at the table waiting. If you're looking for a fun date night or girls' night out, you need to try this class at the Commentary. They sell out fast, so as soon as you see it on Eventbrite, get your ticket and enjoy!

The food was good. No Wait for a table and for food was minimal. I had the breakfast wrap. Just the right amount of food.
