edemame dumplings weren't as good as the last times I've had them but True Food is still my favourite restaurant.the flourless cake was good, as always, and I highly recommend the matcha horchata. during the winter, the butternut squash pizza is #1 (and I think it is even better with the gluten free crust).

I used to love visiting True Food Kitchen every other Sunday with my family, especially thanks to our amazing server, Bianca. However, this last Sunday was a complete letdown. Despite our simple request for an outdoor table, the hostess outright refused, citing a non-existent big party. Inside, the service was abysmal - no water, no plates, and the server/bartender seemed indifferent at best. What made it worse was the lack of crowds; it wasn't even busy, so the neglect felt intentional. As a vegan, I used to rave about their sandwiches, but now I'm hesitant to return if this is how they treat their patrons. Bianca deserves a glowing 5-star review for her unwavering dedication, but unfortunately, this experience fell far short of our expectations. It's disheartening to realize we were lied to and mistreated, especially considering our loyalty to the establishment.

Friday night… sat promptly. Ordered promptly. 20-25 min for drinks which when we got were very good (crime of passion). 25-30 min for refill of water. 30 min for our single appetizer, cauliflower which was good. Was told kitchen is busy and understaffed at that point. 2 meals of 4 came then 3-5 min later the other two. 2 of 4 were cold, at this point I just sent my pizza back. My kids Mac & cheese was cold and it took 15 min to get a new one. My daughter’s meatball sub was tasty but at $20, maybe not worth it. My wife’s Gouda turkey burger was dried out and not tasty. Should have sent it back. Waitress was nice and apologetic but mgmt should not be happy about their overall product.

our server wasn’t the friendliest, no “hey how are you” or “hi my name is..” etc no jokes at this table. but the tomato soup was very very yummy, I also liked the peach lemonade.Vegetarian options: my vegan friend loved this place so if a vegan and a meat eater can i think a vegetarian can.

Service was friendly, welcoming, and some of the best I have experienced recently. The manager was great. Such a pleasant and fun dining experience. The food was delicious and there was an abundance of options. Highly recommend.

We were pleasantly surprised that it was easy to find a brunch table on a Saturday. Our server Chelsea was polite and helpful, even offering us a complimentary dessert, as they seemed a bit short- staffed. The portions were excellent and we very much enjoyed our meal. We'll be back!

Have been going to True Food since they opened the first store in Atlanta next to Lenox Mall back in 2016(?). When I moved up here and saw they have a place up in Ballston, I decided to have a client meeting there yesterday (3/19). The ambience is always nice - our server, who was working the bar, came and took our order. I was going for a bowl and lemon drink and my client was just having a tea. Well, guess what? My food never showed up. Our server never once came to check on us. Finally, we decided to leave and our server finally came, apologized and offered to waive the check for the lemon and team. The worst part is that she blamed the snafu on the kitchen staff.

A variety of food options for carnivores, vegetarians, and vegans. I have multiple food allergies and was able to easily find options to choose from - even for dessert! We ordered the cauliflower appetizer, Buffalo Chicken Salad, Roasted Butternut Squash pizza (with gluten free bread), and Squash pie. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was pleasant and the bathrooms were clean. Great, timely service!

I have come here a few times and it's been really good but yesterday, the service wasn't good. My waitress was kind but didn't check up on us for a long time. It was my birthday and I wanted to really have a great time. Even when my "birthday carrot cake" came out, we still had all these dirty plates around me. My first waitress didn't even tell us there was a shift change. She just walked out with her coat but the second waitress was cool.

Have returned 2x at other's insistence to this restaurant and it is not be trusted. The only decent thing I've had was the Edamame Dumplings. I ordered the quiche at brunch today and it was completely burnt on the edges. The burnt taste had permeated the rest of quiche. I was with a group so didn't want to make a fuss. Another in my group ordered the same with the same result, so not a fluke. Brunch seems to be a time to avoid if you want edible food even through it never seems to be really crowded. I don't know if dinner time is better.---Had my 2nd awful meal at Ballston Commons-- True Food and expect it will be my last. I ordered the Strawberry Lemon Pancakes for brunch. There was no lemon to found anywhere in the pancakes or on the plate. When I asked the server, she said " the quinoa in the batter overpowers the lemon" and left it at that, as if it were acceptable. To compensate for the lack of lemon, I guess the chef dumped a till of cinnamon in the batter, because that was all I tasted. Cinnamon overpowered the quinoa, the lemon, the dollop of yogurt on top, the syrup, everything. Disgusting. And finally the advertised homemade strawberry preserves are nothing more than a handful of large slices of strawberries, not even marinated. Not worth the money, not worth my time. Good bye True Food Kitchen.

While I'm a True Food Kitchen fan, I'd never tried their brunch. I was extremely pleased as the brunch menu was unique, food was really good, and the service was awesome! (Expresso Martini!!!!!)
