First of all, the GPS brought us to a dead-end road with a gate that we could not open. So we had to drive back around to the Virginian and try to go through that way. The gate man was kind enough to allow us to go through this time. We found that there is an entrance from Lee Highway. Being a pescatarian, I had checked the menu prior to you booking and there were several pasta options available. When I arrived and was seated, I was told that there was no longer a pasta station, so that left me with one dish to order as an entrée and it was undercooked and terrible. My wife's dish was not very tasty, it also was below par. Our waiter, Ryan, was very helpful and apologetic about the quality of the food. To top it all this was an anniversary dinner so we weren't very happy about our dining choice!

Not sure why we were asked about the occasion that we were celebrating when we made our reservation since they were not planning to acknowledge this special occasion. We will plan to return to Hickory in the future - just not for special occasions since other places do a better job in celebrating special occasions.

The design and decor of the restaurant was wonderful. The seats are comfortable and tables are spaced a good distance apart for some privacy. But we were expecting better food and more options. My husband had the dry aged steak which he enjoyed but the fried chicken was not good. The Nicewonder website spoke highly of the chef Travis but he was not even present in kitchen for our visit this weekend. Ryan was our waiter and did a great job! We received a card from the staff wishing my husband a happy bday which was very nice

Lovely Evening at Hickory, From the cocktails to dessert everything was delicious. We had cocktails, mock-tail, wine from their vineyard, appetizers, salads, large plates and desserts all were delicious. Our server was Leah, she was attentive, helpful and fun. 5 star experience! Chef Travis Milton heads a talented and beautiful culinary team !

Dinner was incredible & our server, Brandon, was wonderful. My wife ordered the dry aged steak & I ordered the grilled pork loin. Both were amazing! Will definitely be eating here again!

Our first visit. Coming in at dark proved a small challenge with road signage but we made it. I wish I could remember our servers name he was amazing! The food was out of this world good. Who new just carrots for an appetizer could be so dang good! Wow. This is a gem of a Resturant. I rate it a 10 out of a 10. Had a great time food was delicious!

Beautiful hotel in the tri-city area. Plenty of amenities and activities: spa, wine tasting, pool, fire pit. The room was spacious , comfortable and well equipped.

My boyfriend and I ate here for Valentine's Day. It was a set menu, and every course was absolutely phenomenal! The venue was gorgeous and the service was excellent. It was our first time dining here, and we will absolutely be back.
I reserved a table for Valentines Day, They had an option to choose a preset meal, which I declined and chose a standard reservation. We wouldn't eat 90% of the preplaned meal. I show up and we're seated with the preplanned meal as our only option. They refused to serve us anything else. So at 8pm on Valentines we have to go find somewhere else to eat....

The over all experience was good. We order 2 chicken Milanese we only received 1 and 2 plates. Not real sure about what happened there? The waiter was kind and met our needs while dining. Not sure if the food was worth the price?

The experience at Nicewonder was like no other. The service was great, the rooms were pristine clean, the fine dining was DELICIOUS! The amenities provided were enough to keep you busy. We went for a romantic weekend away and I am so glad that we did. They do have a spa on site, but be sure to call the front desk before booking, if you want to use the spa services. Unfortunately, they were booked up since they are just now opening up (as of a week ago). I originally planned on utilizing the on-site spa and was unable to, which wasn't the end of the world... but now I just have a reason to go back!Rooms: Super clean!Food & drinks: Exquisite fine dining!

The food and service was amazing. Our server was excellent! The drinks were amazing and the food was absolutely delicious. I can't wait to go back again soon. We had a window seat that overlooked the pond and vineyard. All around every single thing about this lunch was just simply amazing!

Just returned from a one night stay in the yurts. From the moment we arrived, every element of our experience at Nicewonder was truly top notch. A welcome drink on arrival, beyond hospitable staff, and the place is BEAUTIFUL! We loved the yurt we stayed in and the fact that our dog could come along for the journey too. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway, don’t sleep on this place! Well done, Nicewonder Farm!
