Was in the area to pick up something and wanted something warm on a cold windy day. Saw they had Galbitang (Korean soup with beef bone broth) and was excited they did takeout since some Korean restaurants don’t for Galbitang. Wait time was 15 minutes to make and/or warm up the soup. It stayed hot the entire 45 minute drive back home and was delicious. Didn’t really care for the side dishes but in particular on those ?-but props to them on the soup! Yum-

The food was very delicious and plentiful. We needed food to share, so ordered catering from Somac since we love their food!If you like Korean food, I would like you to try japchae, jeon, stir-fried squid, Korean style chicken.I highly recommend their catering service.
I was torn giving this review. They changed the recipe to their Korean ramen several months ago and it is just awful. Tastes nothing like it used to. I would get it at least twice a week because it was that good. The new recipe really is terrible. My hope is that they see this review and bring back the old recipe. Then I will change my review to 5 stars.

As of 1/27/2024, I'm not so sure if they had any changes in their recipes or maybe a chef changed(?) lately, their food taste much better than dining in about 4 months ago. I ordered chicken bites and Japchae(glass noodle w/ stir fried veggies) through food delivery system and I was impressed. Great job!
Today, I ordered some food from Somak for a small meeting. The chicken stayed very crunchy, well-seasoned, and the inside of the chicken was very soft. The vegetarian option, the udon salad, was perfectly seasoned, with crunchy leaves to support the texture. The foods came with amazing plating. Therefore, there was no need to move the foods into another plate to serve the guests. In conclusion, this experience with Somak was very satisfying, as all the guests enjoyed the food.

Too bad, went here for Saturday lunch, sooo dirty. A baby roach actually was on the table after the server picked up our menus. No wonder tho, after seeing carts of piled up dirty dishes on the way to the bathroom to wash my hands after touching the sticky table. Won’t be back until it shuts down for a deep clean. Disappointed as I love a good bibimbap.

Wow! I was surprised to find this Korean eatery on route 50, on my way back from horse country. I’m a regular traveller to Seoul and can say this place is authentic. Classic Korean dishes + Japanese fusion. Splendid flavors. Good portions. Dishes come with their assortment of Korean pickles. Perhaps the best Korean food I’ve had around DC. Recommend the Doukbaegi Bulgogi. Well done Somac!

Their Korean food ?? is outstanding ?. Also, the service is great, and their employees are so nice ? so that's why you should go there!
the food we tried was really good, what hurts this place is the dirty tables and slow service, granted we visited with a large group, but still the wait to order, for the food to come out, and even to pay was too much.Prices are good but not good enough to drive there from Fairfax (15 minutes).Seems it is a family own place and as such is run at a slow pace.The table we got had a build up of a coat of grease on it, I noticed it when my niece was running her nails in it .
