I come here regularly to grab takeout. The food is always great. It's not really close to my house but when I'm anywhere nearby this is where I go.

It says it closes at 10 I went there around 9:20 pm, and they didn’t take our orders, I hope the owner finds this, as a restaurant owner myself if my employees does this, that person will be out the next

My husband and I enjoyed coming to Thai Basil because of their food. The owner, Nongkran Daks is a famous Thai chef, who was featured on TV in the early 2000's. I even attended her cooking class in 2008. They are still located in Chantilly, Virginia. We had dinner there on January 12, 2024. We were so disappointed that the quality of food has gone down. I ordered Pad Wun Sen and Pad Thai. The meal hardly had any shrimp or chicken. The 2 bowls were just mainly dry noodles. I love noodles, don't get me wrong. But that's about it for our dishes. The Tom Yum Gai soup was also very disappointing. The taste was off. Unfortunately, Nongkran was in Thailand that time so, we were not able to talk to her. We left unsatisfied and terribly disappointed.

Been coming here 10+ years and never a bad experience. A favorite lunch spot to bring new and old friends! Basil Chicken and spring rolls are my go-to!

There’s one word to describe our experience here — “SAD”. I initially was excited due to the high overall ratings, but after ordering a variety of food, was disappointed by the extreme lack of flavor. Even the fried rice tasted bland, and far inferior to what is commonly cooked at other restaurants. Try adding fresh garlic & chopped green onions for a start! And the Tom Kha soup was just plain flavorless. It’s almost as if the chefs made a deliberate decision to not put in the flavor because they’re afraid we Americans won’t be able to handle it. My tip to the chefs: Don’t skimp on the lime, the garlic, the chili & other spices which are characteristically Thai. Otherwise, your food will continue to disappoint & customers will find better places to grab a bite. I hope you take my advice.

I haven't eaten here in a long time and decided to grab some pad see ew (beef) and it was not good. It barely had any tasted and the beef was like really chewy. This place used to be REALLY good, so I'm not sure what happened. I thought maybe it was just an off day, but after reading a few other reviews, now I'm thinking maybe they changed ownerships or chefs. It was good enough to eat it all, but it just wasn't satisfying...but I mean, I had to add some texas pete hot sauce that I had laying around at my office desk to finish it. Disappointed.

Excellent service for lovers of Thai food. Very spacious and busy place, there are almost always customers enjoying its extensive menu.

The food was amazing and so was the service. I got the pad Thai with crispy duck. 10/10. Also the chicken wings with crab inside? Who would’ve thought it’d be so great.

We’ve been eating Thai Basil food for 20+ years, sometimes even weekly. Unfortunately, it’s gone way downhill lately. Spice levels are very inconsistent. For example a 1 pepper order tonight was inedible even by someone who normally orders 3 peppers. Last time 2 pepper was bland. Beyond the inconsistency they frequently mess up online orders. It seems they manually transfer orders from one system to another. One dish seems to be incorrect 8 out of the last 10 times. We have so much history here we’ve tried to keep ordering but it’s so frequently a disappointment that we’re sadly giving up.

Came here for lunch and ordered the drunken noodles. It didn’t taste like drunken noodles and I’ve had these in many places. Ordered a side of white rice and what I got was tiny. I would say overpriced for the flavor and did not taste like normal. The chicken also looks pretty low quality but that’s my take. I got a thai tea too and it was pretty bad. They definitely water down the Jasmine tea and it doesn’t taste the same. I’d go elsewhere, not worth it.

Thai Basil has been my go-to restaurant for a while now. However, I ordered my favorite basil chicken today thru Grubhub - it was sheer disappointment. No salt, no taste - extremely hot. What happened to you guys? I would hate to stop being your customer!

Worst drunken noodles I’ve ever had. Beef was dry and chewy. Ordered medium spicy and was not spicy at all.
