This is the worst barbecue I’ve ever had, AND it is also the worst meal I have ever had. The fries had so much salt on them they were inedible and they were oil soaked and floppy. The jerk chicken looked like a piece of charcoal, it actually took me awhile to identify it as chicken. I forgot that I ordered three meats. At first, I thought it was burnt ends from the brisket. Any restaurant that would put that on a plate clearly is not interested in providing an edible product. I have never experienced so much fat on brisket. The 3 sauces were underwhelming. Overall horrible experience. In fact, it was gross.

Brisket was tasty but that was about it. Biscuit was dry on the outside and undercooked inside. The shredded cheese and onions on top were cold and for the price paid it should come with a side. Staff was also loud and obnoxious in the open kitchen right next to the dining

The barbecue briskets were in small quantity, the biscuit did taste really good and the ol' dirty fries go best with honey mustard. I liked the live music and wasn't too busy on a Friday night.

First time here, had a lovely experience. Staff was really down to earth, portion sizes were great, and the food was absolutely delectible. Highly recommend!!

We were searching for a late night place to eat and we're very surprised at 10:30 at night to find absolutely fantastic pulled pork barbecue.

Our second time dining here, after a really good first experience. Solid brisket, but not superb, and the bun and sauce were just acceptable. But topping it off, a required 18% tip for ordering via... kiosk. Does the kiosk get to keep all of the tip? That just ain't right to push off staffing costs onto the customer. No warning until the end. Sadly, the last bit means we probably won't be back.Edit after owner response: 1. the staff MADE me use the kiosk (18% of me makes me wonder why?), 2. to imply I may 'feel strongly about not tipping' is a red herring... and you're in a university town where inductive logic really does matter. I do, however, feel strongly that putting a kiosk into the mix negates a tip every, single time, 3. your business is food services - there is an inherent, unspoken risk to a consumer when staff feels unappreciated, hence the social pressure of an expected tip (that is now in the conversation). You should know this. 4. the compromise you mention only took into account 2 of the 3 parties affected. It doesn't sound like the sovereign customer is recognized even after my review, so we now definitely won't be back.

Juicy pulled pork with slaw and red onions on a bun, their own sauces, excellent! Also enjoyed the very crispy perfectly cooked french fries.

SLAMTASTIC, Y'ALL. There are 2 restaurants in Charlottesville that are must visits for us, and this is one of them. The fried green tomatoes are top notch, biscuits and coffee are delightful, and the meats are excellently prepared- we enjoyed the pastrami and jerk chicken. All the folks there were communicative, professional, and delightful. The music was so good, I was groovin the whole time. Ol' Dirty Biscuit ftw! Definitely go enjoy this gem ✨️

Food was good. The service was a little slow but the people were nice. 4 stars because the prices were high for sides. $5 for a cup of cole slaw is just not right.Kid-friendliness: Kid Friendly!

It was my first time here. I did plan on taking a picture but the food smelled so good that I ate it. Very chill atmosphere and the employees were so nice. I do plan on coming again. Maybe next time I will take a picture, maybe.

My girlfriend and I arrived at 7:30pm on a Friday, just as the band was getting set up.The evening menu is not the full menu that's available until 2pm.The j*** chicken sandwich was a little too spicy for me, but I have a low tolerance for spice. The pulled pork on top of french fries was good.

We were looking for a dog-friendly place for lunch. The food is great, with a Caribean vibe. The staff is great. The prices are reasonable. Definitely recommend.

Amazing!! Best BBQ in town. Friendly staff and they offer military discount when I go with my friend without us even asking. Pastrami and j*** chicken are so tender and juicy. The waffle is so soft on the center and crispy on the edges. My favorite spot in town now.

This restaurant has new owners. We visited April 2023 and it was great so we came back July 2023 and the pork was cold and old and slaw very mushie and not tasty. The bbq sauces ranged from applesauce based to Siracha with no savory sauces like the old place. Most of all there is no live bluegrass jam on Friday night and only two customers at 6 on a Friday. The beer was great! My advice is skip the bbq.
