LDR: the good (Fresh pasta, big portions, good pesto sauce, well cooked chicken, lots of options and nice staff) the bad (high prices, slightly watery sauces, boring red sauce, food comes in takeout containers). Overall, food is a 3.5/5, rounding up bc I enjoyed it and think they deserve higher than a 2 star average. okay so background i am really picky and also was so scared to eat here bc of the bad reviews. I think either 1) we got them on a less busy night so our food wasn't rushed 2) there aren't enough reviews to go off of right now or 3) their management took feedback and had corrected issues. Either way, I was pleased with their food and I'd eat here again. I got the chicken pesto pasta and they have 6 different types of pasta you can pick from: macaroni, large elbow noodles, cavatappi, linguine, fettuccine and spaghetti. Not sure where the reviews came from that said "boxed spaghetti" bc this place does fresh pasta... and it's good! The pesto sauce was creamy and delicious. It says on the board that the pesto has dairy in it so not sure why another review complained about it being pesto cream... the chicken was a ~bit~ on the dry side but overall pretty solid, and there was lots of it! The portion sizes are large, which is good bc their food is kinda expensive. But that's now normal for 1) Charlottesville and 2) dairy market specifically. Their staff was super nice and the food comes in a takeout box which I think is convenient so they don't have to do dishes and so you can immediately take home leftovers. The cannoli I had was average and my friend said his chicken parm is good. The red sauce didn't look very fancy, just standard deal there. Service is super quick and the staff are very nice. Overall the sauces could've been a little thicker and more complex, but it comes so hot and fresh that it may need to sit to tighten up some. The pasta was well cooked and the chicken was seasoned and also well done. Prices are a bit high but overall not too bad. I'd eat here again and if you're in the mood for pasta I'd encourage you to try it out!

Review is for the cannoli. Just bad. Mushy shell, not crispy. Too doughy. Filling not creamy. Too thick and bland. Looks like a cannoli should. Doesn't taste like it. Based on how bad the cannoli is, no way I would pay money to try the pasta.

ussin rating: 1/10. the high prices for the food quality is insane. the sauce was watery, the chicken was bland and gray-looking. unsure what the pasta shape was but it was over cooked. this is not chicken alfredo. i can get better chicken alfredo at olive garden for cheaper.

Vodka pasta was really good and fresh. There was the perfect amount of sauce. Definitely go!

**update: I used the word "boxed"to describe the angel hair because it legitimately didn't appear to be fresh and made in-house, but I shouldn't have said that without knowing for sure, so I retract that word.

I went here a couple months ago and got two dishes. The lasagna was cold in the middle. Not sure about the other pasta which was the buffalo chicken Mac. it wasn't mine, so I didn't try it. Ordered a cannoli or two also, they were ok. Also got For the price I was really disappointed I spent like $50 for cold food in a to go box.

Got the chicken Alfredo and very underwhelmed. The sauce tastes watered down and from a jar. The chicken has no flavor. Save your money go somewhere else.

I walked up to this counter because of the beautiful looking deserts in the case. The tiramisu looked amazing so I ordered it. One small piece for $5. After I paid for it, the cashier handed me a piece that had already been boxed. It looked completely different than the one in the case. The cocoa powder on top was black instead of brown. Instead of returning it, I tried it. It was bland, tasted like air. I'm unimpressed and disappointed. Don't waste your money

Guys, this place is terrible. Meatball sub tasted like nothing. How can you make a meatball not taste like a meatball. It's like they tried to make it bad on purpose. Sauce is one step above ketchup. The pesto chicken pasta was a thick sloppy mess. It's not pesto. Chicken on top was like wood.If you hate yourself, order the chicken parm. Do they make sauce or pour tomatoes out of a can. Charlottesville desperately needs good, mid-tier Italian takeout. If you're looking to start a business, this place wil be no competition for ya.

This place was terrible. I ordered an Alfredo pasta and it was disgusting. The pasta took 30 minutes to make when there were only a couple of people at the restaurant. When the pasta came it was in a soup of Alfredo sauce. The pasta was completely over cooked and the chicken was very undercooked. The pasta portion was also very small for a price of 20$.
