A charming bar with kind, lightning fast staff. Very strong looking wealthy guy showed up in an expensive dressing gown to add to the local color. The Irish product is a religious experience.

Wow!! I hadn't had Durty Nellys food since I was a kid and their subs are still A1. I had the Italian sub and am already excited for when I can grab another one. Portion size is HUGE, once sandwich is definitely enough for 2 meals (or 2 people). Beer specials are great and happy hour deals are good. Great local pub and they have some dart boards inside. Great food and beer would be back.

So this place is a local's favorite hangout. We visited on Thursday night and tried their Italian sub. It was excellent! You order at the bar and they bring it to you. Not a very big place at all. Friendly service. I'll visit again.

I dont know how they do it. Just a spectacular array of divey ambiance with great music and cheap alcohol. One of our favorite bars in the country.

Husband and I are Uva alum so Durty Nelly's is an old favorite. We brough tw of our sons for a football game and knew that going out to eat would be a challenge. We rented a house and pre-ordered subs and wings. When I arrived, there was a crowd but a server immediately came to me and said she'd get my order asap. She did and I was back at our house within 15 minutes even though crowds were everywhere. We ordered wings (perfectly crispy and flavorful), a reuben, a Cavalier and a Blue Ridge. Potato salad side was so delicious! Subs were great....good bread, plenty of meat/veggies and great taste. We have liked Durty Nellys since 1990 and now, our sons like it too. Don't miss this gem in Cville!

YUM!! This place was amazing for several reasons. -great dive bar inside with darts and stage for live music -two outdoor patio areas both with tables that have umbrellas for shade -AMAZING food - I got the Italian sub and my partner got the hot Sicilian - both were amazing, absolutely no complaints -very reasonably priced - my 12" sub was around $12 -friendly staff; the bartender brought a fresh water bowl for our doggo Overall, 20 out of 10! Wish I lived in Cville to come back regularly.

A good place to view a band. Don't expect a hot meal here. But for cold beer, a giant sub, free music, and local flavor Durty Nellys is it.

Crazy that Durty Nellys totally transforms into a karaoke bar on wednesday nights. You would never recognize this place. By day it's an old country style western type bar with plenty of outdoor smokers and an older crowd. I always get a little uncomfortable stepping in during those regular nights. But on Wednesdays it's filled with a fun young and student type crowd with a great karaoke host Theo who we have come to know. Super fun and honestly the best karaoke i've been to in Charlottesville. I'm always on the hunt for karaoke and truly it was one of my favorite experiences.

Just driving through looking for lunch (Panera or something) but while getting gas across the street read Yelp review on Durty Nelly's. So glad we did! Local (dive?) bar, fireplace roaring, customer sitting at the bar with dog at his feet. Some of the best sandwiches either of us has had in a long, long time. Place has live music at night and outdoor seating for good weather. If I was a local, I'd be a regular! As it is, we noted the exit for potential future stops.

In town with the family for a University tour and the UVA football game. As I use a wheelchair, I opted not to go to the game and instead grab lunch. My hubby, a UVA grad, suggested I eat at the pub. He was spot on! My Monte Vista wrap was delish. Additionally, I mentioned I was mobility challenged and the person that took my phone order actually brought it to my car! His kindness and the yummy food is why Dürty Nelly's Pub is community institution. Thank you.

I feel like this is a institution in C-Ville's night life. This was my first time to the pub and it totally made an impression. It's a local bar for sure. I went on a Thursday night and the locals were out in full force. It was an older crowd, but I'm sure college students frequent it often. I got a draft and a vodka with a pickle back. The draft was 3 dollar and a top shelf vodka w/ chaser 10 dollars. Wow , what a deal!!!! I guess I'm use to paying a lot more. The ambiance was your typical Irish bar, but laced with a 70's vibe. I also tried a sub. I choose the cavalier sub. It was 12 dollars and worth every penny. It was heavy and the size of my arm. Lol . In conclusion, this place is worth the money and the experience. These are the places we need to keep alive during recessions.

Awesome spot to stop for a deli sandwich accompanied by an ice cold brew during lunch! While working in town I received a recommendation from a client and stopped by the following day. Staff are super friendly and help create that dive/cheers/locals/fun vibe!I enjoyed chatting with the staff so much I stopped back by that night for a few brews and met one of the owners who was a great local guy who gave me a bunch of other local recommendations!

Durty Nelly's is the place to go if you're looking for a dive bar to sit around with your friends in and shoot the breeze. After one visit, my friends and I have been back multiple times in one month. The deli food is fresh tasting and line up with the price-point. Happy hour is a good deal, and the beer is reasonably priced all the time. Occasionally there is live music from just small area bands and it's always a good time. I can't recommend enough going here, they've stayed in business as long as they have for a good reason.
