Short on staff, so no customer service. I went to rent a carpet cleaner (I had looked it up, it was available at the store), and I even called ahead the day before to make sure I would be able to rent. The woman on the phone told me that someone would be at customer service on Monday and could help me. Monday comes, nobody at customer service and a sign saying customer service was closed due to low staffing. I ask around, am told to wait 3-4 minutes, nobody comes. Another customer asks, is told 45 minutes. I didn't have 45 minutes, so I left. Came back a few hours later, was told nobody would be able to help me. Came back almost a week later, was again told nobody would be able to help me. Overall, never got to speak with customer service, was not able to rent the carpet cleaner at all. Store may be fine for normal shopping (I haven't checked), but if you're looking for customer service or any specialized purchases, no luck.

Im in Charlottesville VA. On work. Got done work late Walmart closed looked up 24 grocery store. Said Kroger on Emmett Street open 24hr. I got here at 11:50 to get couple frozen entrees to bring to hotel. At 11: 55 said store is closing in 5 minutes bring your purchases up front. When I mentioned they are advertised as 24 hrs. Guy just said no we close at 12. There are no signs listing hours anywhere on doors or windows. I don't think it's right for 1 that they are under 24 hr. Advertising. 2) that they don't have hours of operation posted anywhere. They people working there gave me stern glares, never said anything bout they were closing, and person that made announcement was rude. I'll never come to this store ever again, when we return to area.

Are you serious. The policy at Kroger needs to change. My friend forgot his ID but I had mine and we were just going to buy some beers. They refused to sell them because my friend didn't have his ID (even though I was buying and had mine). I understood this so I was just going to grab another friend and come back or get his ID and come back to buy. Turns out me and my friend weren't allowed to come back to that Kroger for 24 hours EVEN THOUGH I AM OF AGE. Ridiculous. Banned from Kroger for 24 hrs because my friend didn't bring an ID???? Administration and management were of little to no help either and didn't even try to talk to us and just said we were barred for 24 hours!??? Come on Kroger

We don't usually shop for groceries in Charlottesville, but we do when driving back home through the area. We came here in hopes of finding some decent fresh sea scallops and shrimp, but only got frozen shrimp that looked decent, as their fresh shrimp wasn't very impressive and what looked somewhat "ok" was small. They only had bay scallops, no sea scallops. The place looked like a mess, a Food Lion looks a LOT better. Staff were moderately friendly. Produce wasn't very fresh-looking nor was there much selection. We totally should have just gone to Wegman's, like we originally planned. We won't return.

Multiple individuals, not shopping together, maskless in the store. Store made an announcement but appeared to do nothing about the issue posing a risk to employees and shoppers.

This Kroger just did what the subway is getting bashed for in NYC. They removed all the benches outside to stop customers that are transient from sitting on benches stationed on what is a public right-of-way sidewalk outside their establishment. This also effects the handicapped and pregnant customers that no longer can take advantage of a common decency that is to be expected in our society. You are stooping low and the public is noticing.

The Krogers company claims that all its employees are using masks (and all customers will need to within a week), but this is not true at the Barracks Road shopping center Krogers, where the bagger wasn't wearing a mask. This is not so hard people!

I would give this place zero stars if I could. I was racially discriminated against here.

Grocery side is fine. Every single time I need a prescription it's like trying to pass a bill through Congress with this place though. This latest prescription they were out, then forgot to order, so it would be in today, I requested it ready by 11. Here it is 340 in the afternoon and "oh that should hopefully be ready in 30 minutes or so." This medicine is keeping me and my unborn child out of the hospital, and they are messing around like it's nothing important. This after waiting in line for 20 minutes while the tech was talking to a friend. Wish I could give the pharmacy negative stars.

Mostly friendly staff and variety

Organic produce is iffy. Staff at deli on multiple occasions is in their own world and ignore customers. After being the only one waiting several minutes having made contact. I was given moldy cheese and my Turkey was shoved messily in the bag. Not the first time mind you. Went to this store because they still have the natural food section in tact. Every trip finds the fresh meat section a mess. Charlottesville Krogers seem to be going down hill :(

As a grocery chain, Kroger is A-OK. They've got lots of good quality own-brand products at good prices, but there are definitely drawbacks to shopping here, too. Especially this location! Just a half mile up the road or so is another Kroger with a gas station out front, and I would much rather shop there. This Kroger at Barracks is in a convenient location, but the inside layout is wacky. I feel like no matter how many times I go in, I can't remember where they've put the essentials. They've put frozen and refrigerated aisles in the middle of dry good aisles, which is confusing, and they separate "healthy" things on their own aisle (which is totally not conducive to finding healthier alternatives that you might not know exist for your typical grocery purchases), and in my opinion the lay out is generally not intuitive. I'm sure this is done on purpose: planning for grocery shoppers to wander so they see more and buy more, but personally that's not how I function. If I can't find what I'm looking for in a reasonable amount of time, I get frustrated, and I will leave. I shop here when I'm at Barracks already and need to pop into Kroger for something quick, or for their pharmacy, but I much prefer the Kroger just a bit up the road, or the Harris Teeter in the same shopping center.
