This place has amazing service and amazingly authentic food. The only reason I had to take a star off was because this food will definitely leave you running for the restroom. My boyfriend and I visited here for a quiet dinner and we loved it but for hours afterwards we kept having to revisit the bathroom. You should try the food at least once, but just be careful! The pork dumplings are a must for sure though!

A friend and I ate there tonight. From the moment we walked in, the ambience was warm and welcoming, the place spotless, the background music discreet and very soothing. The lady who served us is very pleasant and took very good care of us. The food is wonderful! I had the chicken curry, which was delicately flavored and delicious, and the rice fragrant. For an appetizer, I had the seaweed salad which was crisp, cool, and so satisfying. And the hot jasmine tea was like a warm blankie on a cold night. I will definitely be returning, and telling my friends and acquaintances to put this restaurant on their regular rotation.

Vegetarian options: They’re are some solid options if you’re not looking to eat meat.

I have been here several times now. The food is always delicious. The service is speedy and courteous. The ramen is scrumptious , my favorite is the Tokyo. I could eat the chicken tempura 3 times a day everyday. If you’re of age and like sweet drinks, get the plum wine. Overall 5/5!

Kyoto Fifth Taste gets 4 stars for their quick service dine in experience, great tasting Tokyo Ramen, and steamed pork bun. Another Yelper pointed out that the decor appears to be a repurposed Italian joint, but the silk flowers and wooden decor are an interesting mix, yet somehow it works. We dined in at 11:45 am and were given a menu that no longer had half of the items that appear on the Yelp page, so I was a little disappointed as I wanted a bento box - but the ramen was fantastic. I would have liked to have chosen the meat, but it came with pork, spinach, noodles, a very hearty and tasty broth, half an egg and x2 fish cake slices. I'll come back for dinner so to see if the menu changes.

I ate here while traveling for work. It was a rough day at the office kind of day, and honestly those times are what beat you down the most. One of my favorite things in the world is a nice fried pork cutlet. It's not terribly fancy , but it always hits the spot . I found this place on Google and said " hey, this day can only go up from here". I stopped by and placed my order, the person that took my order was crazy kind and took my to go order, and told me my wait time. I ordered my pork cutlet and tempura, and waited about ten minutes before it was ready. It actually came out really quick. It smelled great as soon as it was handed to me. I got back to the hotel and started to dig in. Not before long, I found myself in the middle of a flashback to my travels in Japan. It reminded me of the meals I would have in the small towns outside of Osaka or Yokohama, eating my meals in the humdrum sounds of the traffic and trains. One of the few moments , I have ever felt peace in my life. I absolutely surprised this place was empty when I stopped by. The ingredients were fresh, the portions were large, and in my experience a fantastic value for the cost. This place is truly a gem, and should definitely have more love. My meal was awesome, and reminded a weary traveler of a moment of peace.

New menu since they reopened. The decor appears to be repurposed Italian, but the food is tasty and the service welcoming.

I bought a soup 30 mins ago. The lady was little rude on the front. No good business! I'll never be there anymore.

Our party of four came here on a weeknight for dinner. We only saw one other party during our meal. We were pretty satisfied with the food and bubble tea, ramen was good, prices were very reasonable, and we only had one complaint. (Oh, and the restroom was wheelchair accessible.) We didn’t order any of the special fermented dishes, so maybe we didn’t get the full experience. It’s a shame this place didn’t have more customers- maybe the location just isn’t ideal…?
