Nice alternative to fast foods! Bowls are great! I only wished they were open later in the evening.

Visited here for lunch with my daughter, SIL, and 1.3 yo grandson. My wife is diabetic and my sil requires a very strict gluten free diet. They were the perfect spot for us. ALL their food is Gluten free which not only meets my SILs needs, but Also puts his Mind at ease after experiencing way too many gluten contamination incidents w purportedly gluten free food. The manager went the extra mile to explain their coconut rice to my diabetic wife so she could make an informed Decision. I got the "forbidden" rice, roasted mushrooms, roasted sweet potatoes, and key west chicken with a creamy wasabi sauce. Delicious. Everyone else made their bowls of choice and my grandson enjoyed bits from everyone's bowl!

The portion sizes are great, the food always tastes fresh, and the flavors are incredible. My only complaint, as someone that's vegan, is that my only protein choice is tofu, which can get really repetitive. It's the same tofu, same flavor every time. And if you get the big Mahana bowl which comes with two proteins, I have no choice but to double up on tofu. It's a good thing the tofu is delicious!

I come here whenever I visit Charlotte because the food is amazing! Today, I ordered online, then went to pick it up and found out my car was blocked in by a construction vehicle! I called the store and the owner came and brought it to me!! What a place- great food and great people! Thank you!

Fresh, delicious food bowls customized to my taste. Unique, sauces, also delicious. Excellent service. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Beautiful place to eat inside or out on the patio. Very cool app to order take out (I haven't figured out the rewards points yet lol). What else can I say? It's why I'm a regular, especially the service.

Overall, healthy options and good variety of both vegetarian and meat dishes at a reasonable price, quick, with plenty of outdoor seating. I ordered chicken teriyaki. The veggies-- green beans and broccoli--were slightly overcooked. Teriyaki flavor was salty, not as flavorful as some teriyakis I've tried. My husband got barbecue chicken, which came with yams and cauliflower. He didn't share, which may mean it tasted too good, but he's also not too picky!

I love the concept of a Build Your Own Bowl, but I was unfortunately disappointed by the quality of the ingredients overall. The sauce on the sesame noodles was wayyyy too salty and it overpowered each bite. The sesame ginger broccoli was good, but the roasted mushrooms also seemed a bit overly salted. The teriyaki chicken was tasty but didn't seem super fresh, and looked like it had been sitting out for a bit too long. I was underwhelmed with my meal, but it did fill me up without feeling too unhealthy.

I was looking for a healthy lunch option, and I came across this quaint little spot right by Barracks. It is quite clean, and there is a lovely outdoor seating area right in front. I would love to come back to eat outside when the weather gets warmer. I got a build your own Mahana bowl for $9.99 with teriyaki chicken, honey sriracha Brussel sprouts, and sesame broccoli on sweet potato noodles. I love how the employee mixed each topping inside the sauce before serving it into the bowl. Everything was coated wonderfully. The honey sriracha Brussel sprouts were phenomenal: seasoned to perfection! I would definitely recommend to a picky eater - they might not like the aftertaste of Brussel sprouts but the sauce is worth it. The teriyaki chicken was nicely tender and warm, and the spicy ahi tuna from the Spicy Ahi Aloha Bowl was pretty tasty. The noodles remind me of glass noodles; they break pretty easily and were served cold but were refreshing nonetheless. I saw that the creamy wasabi dressing was quite popular, and I ended up thinking it was pretty okay, although I'm not the biggest fan of the taste of wasabi. The serving was actually quite filling, and I ended up with leftovers. They do not skimp on the portions. Overall, I would absolutely recommend! I can't wait to try other combinations of toppings and proteins.

So happy to have found this place after hiking for 3 hours. A friend and I took a day trip to Shenandoah. After waking up super early and hiking then having to make the 3 hour ride home we decided we needed food in order to make the drive back. Being that I'm GF it was so hard to find somewhere to stop. I couldn't indulge in the typical fast food. My friend finally came upon Mahana. The service was great. I'd describe Mahana as a higher quality Chipotle with fresh ingredients where you go up and add items to the bowl. I was so hungry I got the Big Mahana which was $10 that included 2 bases. 2 proteins, 2 veggies and any added sauces or toppings. I had Sesame noodles, Basmati rice, Honey Sriracha Brussel sprouts, Garlicky green beans. Teriyaki chicken, spicy ahi Tuna($2 upcharge) with Citrus Ginger sauce on the side. I also got a pineapple Lemonade and Zucchini brownie. Overall a bit pricey meal close to $20 but worth it. I sat outside so I could eat with my dog and not be stuck in the car. I really wish we had this restaurant in Williamsburg. It was so nice to not have to explain I cannot have Gluten and actually have various items to choose from. *The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is due to the rice having hard parts. My friend got the rice as well and had hard parts in her bowl too.

Everything is gluten free here, so that's a huge plus! Portion size is adequate, the only issue is the tofu tasted too dry and the cilantro vinaigrette was too sweet. Always great to have another GF friendly option available, so thank you for that!

First time. Server was friendly and helpful. It was slow, so food didn't look hot and fresh--many dishes were uncovered. We did have to have ours remade because it wasn't hot, but they were apologetic and happily did so. The food was delicious! I made my own bowl: coconut rice, sweet potatoes, mushrooms, Key West chicken, Citrus Ginger and Coconut Sweet Potato sauces on the side. I would gladly get that same order again. My husband had Paradise bowl with Cilantro and Wasabi sauces on the side--a hit with him! I recommend!

I was excited to try Mahana Fresh but was disappointed by my food. I ordered via Grubhub pickup and they had my food ready earlier than expected which was nice; however, my food was too salty. My steak was cooked nicely but was way too salty causing the rest of the bowl to be unappetizing. The roasted potatoes and buffalo cauliflower were good but I found the citrus sauce to be nothing too special.

Great gluten free selection because literally everything on the menu is gluten free! However the cilantro vinegarette was way too to sweet and disappointing. The tofu pieces were cut too big and overall very dry but firm. The staff were very attentive and preparation was quick! If you're looking for a quick healthy option in the area this is worth the stop!

I loved the food we got here. Very easy to have make a tasty vegan bowl, too.
