Ordered takeout. The food is not very good. The flavor is nothing compared to real hawain food. Katsu sauce just taste like a1 steaks sauce and the mochiko sauce is very little flavor and nothing like real mochiko sauce.

My go-to place for sushi cravings in Charlottesville. Super fresh, simple and tasty food. The people there are nice and passionate about what they do :)
We stopped and ate here on our daughter's recommendation. I had the the barbecue chicken and the panko chicken 1/2 or each with fried rice. I absolutely love the barbecue chicken and the fried rice is really good. I am not a huge fan if sauces but both we yummy. We were going to take it home, but a small table opened up so we ate there. Definitely plan to take your order to go our eat outside.

One of my favorite take out spots! Charlottesville has a real gem with Mochiko. I haven't been able to find another spot quite like it. Their bbq chicken is to die for and the mac salad is life changing, I could eat a pound of it. The people working are very nice, and pick up is easy! I also love that I can door dash Mochiko to work. I wasn't a huge fan of their spam musubi, but everything else is a 10!
I came on a Friday for lunch, around 2pm. I got a spam masubi, and bbq chicken with rice, kimchi cucumber, and Mac salad. The spam masubi was okay. It was really cold. I was expecting it to be more room temp, but the rice and the spam were actually cold. I prefer it on the warmer side, but it wasn’t horrible. The bbq chicken was delish! Great flavor. I wasn’t a fan of the kimchi cucumber. The cucumber was soggy, didn’t taste fresh and had almost that translucent color to it. Not a fan, and won’t order again. The star of the show (in my opinion) was the mac salad. It was so creamy, and went so well with the bbq chicken. I would go back again, maybe during a more busy time when the food is on the fresher side.

Cute restaurant, pretty good food. Depends what you get, my boyfriend ordered the Mochiko chicken and it was just okay. My chicken katsu was much better. The food took awhile, I'd recommend ordering ahead next time.

I greatly appreciate that.Update: The food is still good, but portions have gotten significantly smaller.Also, my spam musubi was missing from my to go order, but I was charged for it.REMEMBER TO ALWAYS CHECK YOUR BAG BEFORE LEAVING (even though it is stapled).I unfortunately made it all the way home before noticing.

I love this place so much. The spam musubi is such a delicious treat, and the poke bowl (rice, sashimi, and seasoning) has been a stable in my diet for a year now. The fish is fresh, and the food amazing. It's gotten to the point that if I'm in that area of town (we live on opposite side of town), I will 90% choose to eat here most trips. Highly recommend!

I have gotten takeout from this restaurant several times, as they only have 2 tables in the place, but there is a nice patio outside, and have always been very pleased with the food. The tuna poke bowl always has fresh, high grade tuna, the katsu chicken is crispy and tender with a great sauce. If you're looking for something a little different, then it would be worth checking this little gem out.
