The College Inn has been an institution in Charlottesville, Virginia since 1952 and has been a part of the the college experience for many of the students of University of Virginia (and I am sure many of the faculty). How many students shared dreams over pitchers of beer and pizza? How many parents who went to UVA aked their kids who currently were in UVA if they tried the College Inn yet, a form of passing down the torch from one generation to the next? The College Inn was a cool place. Again, you could share a Pitcher of beer and some pizza. The chicken parmigiana was great and the gyro was pretty good, as well. I just got the news that this place has closed. Was it a fatality of COVID-19 or a changing city and world? Maybe a bit of both. I will remember the few times that I was here. Cold beer, hot pizza and good conversation with great friends. A part of Charlottesville has left us and I guess change is inevitable. At least the memories shall remain.

Giving 5 stars for customer service on my delivery order. They were out of the kind of drink I wanted, so they called and told me what was available. I get that every now and then things are out of stock, and I 100% respected and appreciated that they called me to get my opinion on what I'd like to be done in the situation! There've been times in the past with delivery orders elsewhere when things out of stock are just substituted randomly, so the extra step in this case to make sure I got something I wanted stood out to me. Good job College Inn.

Probably about the nicest meal deals in Charlottesville besides all the Chinese I'm obsessed with for those great package deals and late hours. This establishment is good for stern budgets or night hours since the only place for one dollar extras Ike real sweet pepper rings or artichokes. The house special pizza is superbly gourmet. All pizza by them have a buttery crust. This is the good stuff since keeps for 48 hours almost exactly as was when hot and fresh.Great salads at less than $4.00 with high quality romaine lettuce & oily sauce to make it gourmet. If you need great food at low cost this is top notch.I only recently ordered again after not going to it for four years I was quite impressed they haven't changed menu, still great. They have XL hamburger platters too for any ravenously hungry men in your life while stuck in this city.Tip: You can make your own veggie sub if you get breaded $2.00 eggplant & individual toppings & some sourcream.

Please consider buying pitted olives. I almost broke a tooth on the olives in your salad.

College Inn has been my go to for delivery for 14 years. They deliver super late at night which is convenient and their pizza and chicken tender salad is absolutely delicious!!! The salad is big enough for two people. I'm from NY and the fact that I love their pizza says it all!

I’m a local and I’ve been eating here for years with that said I’m aware of the occasional mistake with food being made and they’re always quick to fix the issue. My problem is with the customer service or lack thereof. I recently placed and order and had the man literally laugh in my ear for saying I would not like to tip on the card before hanging up in my ear resulting in me almost calling back to cancel my order. I work in retail and customer service skills can make or break a business and needless to say the person they choose to have answering their phones just cost them a customer (I prefer to tip cash so the drivers don’t have to wait but I don’t feel that was the person who’s answering the phone lines place to decide to laugh because they felt I may have not been tipping the driver)

I had been a loyal regular customer for over a year. I would have food delivered to my work place. The past few times I've ordered, customer service has been steadily declining. I would add extra onto my amount for the tip and while food was in route, I would get a call from there asking if I want to leave another tip for the driver and told that they forgot to ask me. Tonight, I was in a patient's room and couldn't answer my phone right away. I got a message 5 minutes later that my food was left on the bench. I go outside and my order is not there. I called them and I'm told there is nothing that can be done and that the "driver can't wait" for an indiscriminant amount of time. So they want to charge me for food not received. In the past, they made sure they reached me and drove off once I got my food. A man I spoke to this evening was basically mocking me and telling me to "take it up with the owners".....I'm done with College Inn until if/when their customer service improves again.

My roommates and I probably have ordered College inn cheesy bread (cheesy breadsticks on the online menu) or carrot cake multiple times a month, and we LOVE IT. Please get their cheesy bread and extra ranch - it is delicious, and we love supporting this local business. Roll Hoos and Go College Inn!!!!!!!!!!

I didn’t even get to point of ordering due to poor customer service tonight from guy that answered call at College Inn. Local hotel said College Inn routinely delivers to rooms, with front desk approval, which I gave after a long drive and desire to stay in room.Guy that answered (9:30p today) seemed unwilling and said “we don’t usually do that.” He reiterated, and it seemed more a lack of willingness to go the extra mile. I told hotel staff, who said they would no longer refer people to College Inn.Customer care and flexibility matter. P.S. Just ordered from another local restaurant, and it was delivered to my door. Losing a $30 order and referrals across maybe 100 rooms. That is a costly lack of service and kindness.

This place is so bad. Chicken parm is inedible, and the cheese bread is terrible. Carrot cake was ok.Edit: Management emailed me along with responding to my review. Both implied that I’d be refunded if I just asked, but that hasn’t been the case so far.I don’t really do online reviews, but the food was so bad that I figured I’d try to help somebody else not make the same mistake I did. I didn’t get any “sick pleasure” out of it, as management puts it.Management might benefit from placing the same amount of enthusiasm into improving the quality of its food that it does in rudely attacking the negative reviews it consistently receives.
