Busy Saturday morning in Charlottesville! Sat at the bar for breakfast. Gordon (bar manager) was amazing! He was extremely busy mixing unusual and intriguing cocktails while taking care of a steady flow of customers eating at the bar. He was consistently kind, calm, enthusiastic, extraordinarily attentive and fun! It's wonderful to have such great service at a restaurant - often rare - and Gordon's demeanor and efficiency were top-notch! (Oh, the breakfast food was great, too!) Happy customer!

Historic interior design and innovative foods. You might wait for seats for 20 minutes on weekend. But the tasty food is worth your time.

Great food, good spot in the middle of Charlottesville, honestly one of the best biscuits I’ve ever had! Long wait, with their waitlist management system being the host yelling out people’s name, would be nice to have a smarter way, sucks to have to stand outside for 60 minutes if/until your name is called.

Brunch was great. We really enjoyed the outdoor seating area. The drinks were good and not too strong, but also not watered down. The Reuben was really good, as well as their specials.

February 27, 2024 - Visiting the area, we received 4 “ glowing” recommendations for a good breakfast place in downtown Charlottesville! The NOOK has history, founded in 1951. The location is at the downtown mall, easy to find. My wife & I wanted breakfast, amazing eclectic menu:*French toast, pancakes, waffles*Eggs in Omelettes (4 types)*Eggs Benedict ( 4 types)*Sausages, hash, bacon, grits, biscuits*Sandwiches, burgers, wraps*Mac & Cheese, country fried steak*Smoked Salmon on bagels*Chesapeake crab cakes*Fried pickles, homemade chili?️Our server, Alex, had her hands full. . . Greeting people as they walked in, and running food from the kitchen to several tables around us. I mixed a glass of OJ & glass of cranberry juice, and ordered a bagel with cream cheese, served warm ! My wife ordered corn beef hash and home fries which she enjoyed. Alex checked in . . . my wife praised both the good coffee & good service!Quality food, service, and atmosphere for breakfast! I highly recommend The NOOK ?

The crabcake sandwich was perfectly balanced with a rich, sweet crabcake, tangy aoli, and light yet squeezable bun. Great service! Alex is a lovely, shiny, sparkly human being and gave the best suggestions of things to do and what food to eat. Warm, inviting atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

Wonderful place, great service! The three egg omelet was delicious, the twice baked new potatoes had onions, red and green peppers. Skins kept on which adds to nutrients. Kinda think they were a top 5 ever to me. Just soooo good.Coffee was excellent as well. My son had a Ruben and really liked it as well.BTW, nit a food topic but you can always tell the quality/pride/care of a place by the bathrooms they maintain. May be the cleanest I've ever seen in a public restaurant.

This is a must eat whenever you're in Charlottesville. All of their food is cooked to perfection, their drinks are well mixed and balanced and don't even get me started on how good their cheese grits are...our family still talks about the grits. They offer a vast variety of yummy breakfast, lunch & brunch options that are sure to please any palate! We eat here every time we are in town visiting!

A great local diner!Located on the downtown mall, this place has been open since the 50s and you know that means it's fantastic! The portions sizes are large, the service is fast and friendly! The corn beef hash was delicious, as was the mimosa I got. The mimosa was perfect, perfect ratio of orange juice to sparkling wine!We stopped in in a Saturday afternoon and we're able to be promptly seated. They got a little busy afterwards, but despite the length of the line they were quick to get folks seated.Parking: You'll want to park in one of the nearby parking garages (market Street or water Street). There is street parking but the street parking is very scarce.
