The sushi here is always first class. IMHO the Valentine's day roll is to die for.A little sad that they are finding it tough to get restaurant workers, so its a minimalist take out right now. Hence 4 stars for the moment instead of the 5 I'd give for full service.Here's hoping as we exit pandemic restrictions things can bounce back with more regular service.

Tokyo Rose was offering free delivery and I noticed the reviews weren't great, but I thought I would give them a chance. Delivery: Estimated delivery was about 45-60 minutes, but I received my food early (30-45 minutes). The delivery driver was friendly and called to notify me once he arrived at my apartment. Packaging: I noticed immediately that the food was well-packaged and came with a lot of garnishes, including ginger and wasabi, as well as sliced lemon and dipping sauce for the fried calamari. We also received a small dipping tray to hold soy sauce. Taste: We ordered a sweet potato roll and Kimbap, as well as fried banana and calamari tempura. The sweet potato roll was actually my favorite piece of the meal, and the kimbap was a bit disappointing in taste. The calamari tasted a bit weird too. But the fresh squeezed lemon was a wonderful addition. The fried banana came with maple syrup and was delicious. All in all, I wouldn't cross Tokyo Rose off your list just yet... maybe give them another chance?

This is insane. I ordered at 5:45pm. it is currently 9:10pm and we are still hungry. I called at 8:14pm to ask about our order. I was promised that they were currently working on it and we would have it soon. That was a lie. When I ordered, I was given an delivery estimate of 6:45-6:55pm. That was also a lie. I have two young kids--not only is it way past their bedtime, but I just finally had to give up on this dinner delivery and make them dinner. They are hungry and tired. Had the delivery estimate indicated that I would be waiting over THREE hours for my family's meal, I would not have ordered! Or, had they called to tell me that their original delivery estimate was incredibly wrong, I could have planned accordingly. This is crazy. I will never, ever, ever order from this establishment again.

Our experience with Tokyo Rose was beyond terrible. I was hung up on twice trying to place my order (the lady kept saying “ok, bye!). My husband and I ordered on our way home from running errands. When we stopped by to check on our order, the lady was without a mask and the man making the sushi had his mask just covering his mouth. The lady yelled at me - in my face pointing her finger - that I showed up too early to pick it up. When I tried to explain we were on our way home so I wanted to check on the status and that we were willing to wait in the car, she turned and walked away raising her arm in the air indicating she didn’t want to hear anything else from me. I ended up cancelling my order and leaving.

I'm so sick of paying a lot of money for crappy food. Sushi was fishy, the "rice noodles were angel hair pasta, tempura was soggy and rubbery and beef was drenched in teriyaki sauce out of a bottle. I usually don't write reviews like this because I know everyone has a bad night and I cooked for years but I'm so sick of being disappointed. Take some dam pride in the food you cook!

I used to love Tokyo Rose. Unfortunately, and I really hate saying it, they are not as good as they used to be. We ordered takeout recently and it took almost two hours to get to us. It was a Friday evening so I can understand some delay but that felt excessive. When I called the restaurant to check in at the hour and a half marker I was told the driver had already left but no apologies. The food quality was just ok and the delay did not improve the flavors.

I love Tokyo Rose so so much. I have been eating here since childhood and it never fails me. I mainly stick to the sushi, which is always fresh and well made. The Tiger's Eye (cold sushi app) is so good I normally order two. The place hasn't changed much over the years, which I absolutely love. The folks who own/run it are hard working and incredibly nice. Other than the Tiger's Eye I highly suggest the spicy mermaid, tuna lover, and Mother's Day rolls!
