Stop in wayside every time I come to Charlottesville!!! The chicken is delicious!!! What started my obsession with their chicken???? Southern living magazine article about this little out of the way place!
Actually the worst service I’ve ever received in my life. I went in to grab my online order and was told that the wait would be 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, I asked the girl at the counter how much longer. She said, dryly, that the wait is now 20 minutes. After waiting 30 minutes, it turned out my food had been ready the entire time. It was sitting on their takeout shelf. The girl at the counter had never bothered to check. I asked them to remake the food. It still was not great. Chicken deff needs more seasoning. Girl behind the counter had her hood up and a horrible attitude.

Wayside is a Charlottesville staple. Great meal combos and family packs and their fried chicken can't be beat. Inside its super casual booths to sit and eat. Old school style pegboard menu. Service is fast and efficient. Wayside has been around for a long time and their chicken is great, especially on UVA game days.
