There were only 2 kitchen cooks when I went, but staff communicated that to me and were very polite. Definitely recommend!

Horrible is the first thing I would like to say. Waitress was nice and told us they only had 2 cooks ok cool. But 1hr and 25 mins to get our food ok I understand but for our food to be cold hell naw. Then my blacken chicken sandwich was pale and undercooked. Just everything about this place is complete trash. Oh my beer was great that's why they got 1 star.

This AJ Gator's location is pretty popular with a lot of my friends at work. It's a decent spot to have a drink after work or to grab a quick lunch. The spacious dining rooms provide enough room for casual groups of various sizes. When I visit, it's usually with a group of 8-12 people with some friends dropping in and out throughout the stay. We always get great service and decent food. First and foremost, AJ Gator's is a sports bar and grill with ten locations in Hampton Roads. There are plenty of TV screens displaying various sporting events and no matter where you sit there are multiple screens within view. There's a fun vibe here, people just gathering to have a good time without getting too outrageous, especially with the current pandemic restrictions in place. Masks are required for staff and customers alike, anytime you're standing up you need to don your mask. Social distancing is also enforced and there is currently no seating at the fully stocked bar. Hand sanitizer is provided. Due to the current restrictions the Governor Northam has put into place alcohol cannot be sold after 10 PM so AJ Gators has reduced their daily hours of operation to 11 AM - 10 PM.To be honest, on most of my visits I usually just have a few drinks but on my most recent visit I was hungry after a hard day at work so I ordered a burger and fries. Their burgers come with chips or potato salad but you can sub other sides for an up charge. I paid a dollar to sub french fries and they were delicious. Hot and crispy on the outside with a soft tasty center, seasoning was spot on. My One Eyed Jack Burger was very nice. The burger was juicy and cooked to a nice medium. It was served open face with the burger covered with cheddar, bacon and a nice fried egg. The other half of the bun was piled with romaine lettuce, tomato, red onions and two large dill pickle slices. I added mayonnaise then put the halves together and stuffed the sandwich into my mouth. I loved that just a little yolk oozed out of the egg as I bit into it, the overall flavor definitely benefited from it. I really enjoyed the sandwich and will definitely order it again at future visits. I sampled some fried pickles and boneless Buffalo wings but I thought they were both pretty average, not bad but nothing to get excited about. There is plenty of parking in the large lot shared with the rest of the businesses in Las Gaviotas Shopping Center in the Great Bridge section of Chesapeake. The parking lot is well maintained and generally free of debris. Multiple points of ingress and egress from Cedar Road make for easy access and a convenient location.Service is always great. On my last visit I was with a group of a dozen or so people with people coming and going but our server was always on top of everything. 3.5 stars for good food, a decent menu and average selection of beers, rounding up to 4 stars for the constantly friendly and efficient service.

Post Covid avoid this place. Closes early and food not there anymore. Go down shopping center to bad habits. Faster better cheaper

I have to say I have only been to a Aj gators once yrs back . But now i live across the street from one so we decided with this covid going on to support our area so we have bought dinner twice from AJ Gators on Cedar Road . Hands down beet chicken Buffalo sandwich I’ve ever had . all the food was excellent we did DoorDash . I was very surprised at the variety of the menu the southwest spring rolls is a definite must try. Definitely going to hit them up when this covert is over and I can go in . Great food for sure

We have been long time patrons of AG.Last evening we ordered pick up to enjoy with some friends tailgating. I ordered a Reuben sandwich, which had always been quite good.Last night was a real disappointment! Almost no meat, stale bread, sandwich falling apart.
