My girlfriend and I decided to try bubbas after a friend suggested it to us for a dinner date, and we absolutely love the atmosphere and the food. Easily some of the best fries at any sit down restaurant here in Hampton Roads, and the Sunshine burger is amazing. We’ve gone back multiple times and haven’t had a bad experience.Parking: Large parking lot, even when super busy it doesn’t get full.

Service was excellent. Although the food took a little longer than expected, she made sure we were taken care of otherwise. Food was perfect. Good sized portions, good prices. Music is a bit loud.
Service a bit lacking. Asked for Togo boxes znd was forgot about 5 minutes later asked again and only had small boxes not intended for pizza.

This was my first time at this restaurant and it definitely wasn't the best service AT ALL!! I will say that I was a part of a big party.It started off ok because they knew that we were coming. We didn't have any wait time. We were seated and it took a little bit for us to get drinks ordered. (Like I said, large party so no surprise there)Our drinks came out. I ordered an apple juice for my daughter but I wasn't told that it would be a juice box. (Otherwise I would've told her to wait for her food) My daughter drank all of her juice well before her food got there. It was quite a while before we were able to flag down our server to order appetizers. She came back after a shorter amount of time to take out entree orders (which again no biggie, large party). But that's where the good service ends.About 30 minutes we still had no food. I hardly saw our server and when we did get anything we had to flag her down. Our entrées finally come out but we NEVER got our appetizers. Because of this we just told our server to just not bring the appetizers out because our food was there. My steak wasn't cooked right and I only got one of my sides. There wasn't any silverware on the table so I ate my only side with my hands before we found some silverware at another table. I was so hungry at this point because we had been at the restaurant for 2 hours at this point.We finally flagged down what we believed to be a manager about my steak and missing side. She said that she would get it right out to me. It came fairly quickly but was unevenly cooked. When I asked about my second side she assured me that it was on its way out. That NEVER came??♀️. Our server completely disappeared. When we asked about her we were just told that she went to step out back for a minute. I believe that she was overwhelmed and didn't know how to handle it. I did feel kind of bad but no one else came to help her until she disappeared.Oh but it took them no time to bring our checks. Out kiosk wasn't working so we had to wait to pay. After several attempts to get someone to take our payments we FINALLY figured out that all of our checks were on only one kiosk at one of the many tables that we had. No one explained that to us we had to figure it out on our own.It wasn't good service at all. We had been there 3 hours and I got half my food, one drink (not one refill) and my daughter's food. Not fulfilling at all. I'm honestly not sure if I will visit again this visit left a bad impression on me.If I was to give positives about my experience I would say: 1. We were seated quickly 2.At least I got some food. 3.The food tasted good 4. The atmosphere was fun and engaging 5. No one seemed to have an attitude.Final thought: don't so large parties here. Don't expect to be attended to in a timely manner.

Our first time here at "Bubba's 33," Chesa. Sq. location. We had the hamburger because it was your choice on Monday, of any of the hamburgers for the lowest price. I should have listened to the server when we asked about what was good on the menu and she listed many items but did not mention the hamburgers. When we asked about the hamburgers she said if you like burgers they were ok. First time we have ever had a hamburger that was what I call "the slimy burger". Not really greasy just slimy and I cannot emphasize it enough. Maybe the other food choices are good but I would not order the hamburger. I could not even get the full taste of the meat because of the texture.Service was slow at first getting our server. The restaurant tables were about half full. But our server was polite and helpful!! Restaurant/sports bar is attractive and the decor is appealing.Parking: Parking was easy and it was not crowded at 4pm on Monday.

Great spot for some American grub: we had an appetizer sampler to start (crooked fried cheese, boneless chicken wings and friend pickles) and then burgers; fries were exactly how we like them, burgers were excellent. Our server Eva was attentive and friendly. Hostesses were welcoming and quick. Manager checked on us to make sure everything was good. We will be back!Vegetarian options: They offer a veggie bean burger which I would try.Parking: Lots of parking.Kid-friendliness: We were in the booth and our 2.5 year old was comfortable and safe; had a blast with crayons and a coloring paper.Wheelchair accessibility: Lots of handicap parking up front and a ramp.
