Chef Hiro is fantastic as always, the fish is fresh and this is the only place other than Amura sushi in Hampton Roads I'd trust to prepare sushi.

Probably the best sushi in the area, very good and very fair priced, it is small so make a reservation , and very quiet inside. The daikichi roll is the best roll I’ve had in a

Maybe the best sushi in Chesapeake. Lived in Japan, and this was more authentic than most in the 757. Tried 3 different rolls and all were delicious.

For lunch I decided to try Daikichi Sushi Bistro. This was my first visit. I ordered on a weekday and placed my ordered around 11:30 AM. It took about 25-30 mins for my food to be ready. I expected it to take about this timeframe so I called in advance. The sushi was good however the salmon sashimi was smaller than I had at other sushi places. In fact, I almost thought they forgot to put it in my to go box. The to-go order was packaged nicely and the staff was friendly. My recommendation is to definitely order in advance if you're in a hurry. However, if you're willing to withstand the wait, you can dine in.

Stop. Just stop reading glowing reviews and GO. You will not regret it.Truly, Chef Hiro is an artist. His creations are magnificent in appearance and stunning in flavor. Never have I had such luscious house made sauces at a Japanese restaurant. This man is a culinary star.We began with a seaweed plate which looked like elegantly uncluttered Japanese art. The sauce was so spectacular, my guest ordered another bowl.We couldn’t resist the curious idea of Berry Tuna. So unexpected; so superb. Again, we ordered a second plate and would let neither go until every bit of sauce was consumed. My guests, sushi veterans, claim this Volcano Roll is the absolute best they have ever had. High praise from Foodies.A tuna roll and a gogo mango roll disappeared with speed. Both were excellent. We asked Hana, our charming waitstaff if Hiro had specific recommendations. DEFINITELY ask. At his suggestion we got mackerel nigiri. Oh my gosh. If only we hadn’t gotten the last pieces. Frankly, I can’t believe I’m extolling raw fish on rice, but now I know what it can be from the hand of a master. The flounder nigiri with lemon pink salt and a light touch of wasabi is a revelation. I was going to ask him to withhold the wasabi—I never eat it. That would have been a mistake. My guest rejoiced over the scallop nigiri. The full sweetness of the shellfish blossomed—-no substituting skate or shark here.We ended with a green tea crepe and a mochi plate. Definitely worth it.To end, I cannot believe what a stellar meal we had. Not one item was less than outstanding. We must keep this restaurant in business. Go. Go now. Go often.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free, dairy free diets are easily accommodatedParking: The strip center parking lot has plenty of open spaces, not designated per store.

I was kinda disappointed by the size of the rolls, very small pieces. I understand that they're understaffed, but it was impossible to get lady's attention.

Daikichi is me and my husband’s favorite restaurant in Hampton Roads hands down. We have always loved sushi and gotten it at countless places, but have never had anything compare to Daikichi. The chefs are so knowledgeable and the staff could not be more friendly and sweet. We go here on every special occasion and would go every weekend if we could!

The sushi chefs are incredible, the waitresses are super kind and attentive. They keep us coming back and now they even remember us coming back. I have been to so many sushi places in Hampton Roads and Chicago and this is the best by a long shot. No close seconds.

Felt like eating sashimi and decided to stop by Daikichi, since I was right in thr area. The server was very nice and helped me pick the dinner option and desert. Went with the sushi/sashimi dinner and green tea ice-cream crepe. I think the crepe is a meal itself!! Enjoyed the food.

Shashimi was awesome! They had toro tuna, the fatty belly meat. Ramen was very good but probably a wrong choice when it is 100 degrees out. Service was friendly and attentive.

Our family has been enjoying Daikichi Sushi for many years. It is constantly excellent Sushi. Service is always good. The owner is the head sushi chef! Some of our favorites include the Soft shell crab appetizer, the Tuna Berry appetizer and the Mizo soups are all delicious. We always order two sets of rolls so the shell fish can stay separate. They are very accommodating to this request. We highly recommend Daikichi Sushi!

Been coming here for over ten years, best sushi place in the 757 and one of my favorites I've been to out of 26 states. I'm a bit of a sushi purist and I adore the way they do things here. Kind service, kind owner, amazing food, great atmosphere, can't ask for anything more than what you get here

I came here with my husband for his birthday. Google has a cool option to make reservations for you - and it actually worked! Our server was super friendly and the service was great. We ordered a soft shell crab karage for an appetizer. OMG you HAVE to order this. It's a little pricey, but the flavor is amazing. We also ordered a few pieces of uni, scallops, and sweet shrimp followed by my entree of a few rolls and sashimi platter. The food overall was great and the service was amazing. They offered 10% off our bill because it was for a birthday celebration and we were offered free matcha ice cream which was DELICIOUS!
