Need a good meeting place for small groups? This is it. Had the pepper steak tonight, a bit overcooked, but well worth the price. Very friendly service!

Everyone is nice. Helpful, great food.Parking: Plenty of parking. They keep it clean.Kid-friendliness: They were so nice to my grandchildren. Talk to them.
It's was nice. Service was a little slow, but we weren't in any hurry. My husband got the spaghetti and sausage. I got the steak. The spaghetti plate was huge and well worth the money. My steak I got wasn't the best. Over cooked, no flavor and not tender. Over all it's really a nice place food and atmosphere. Will be back.

This is the perfect place to come for a down home meal! Not only was the place super homey, but the staff was so kind. We had the salad bar (very fresh). I had a hamburger steak and the other 2 with me had steaks. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked. The portions were great and the price was so reasonable. We will definitely be back!

Dennis Spaghetti & Steak House is a long-time STAPLE of Portsmouth natives. I have literally been going here since I was a small child - So 40 years ago. It started out called "The Purple Possum" and was located in the Plaza-3 Movie Theater strip mall at the corner of High Street and Tyre Neck Road. They changed the name to Dennis's probably in the late1980's and shortly after moved out of Plaza-3 Movie Theater to the current location. I still remember the old man (back in the day) who runs the restaurant sitting in a booth right next to the cash register, smoking cigarettes, and doing the daily business on his old-school paper-fed adding machine (what you would call today, a calculator). Well guess what? The old man is still around, he is 78 years old today, and he still has a booth next to the cash register to sum of the daily business. If you are looking for a fancy high-end restaurant this is NOT your place. If you are looking for good, home-cooked food, like they served 40+ years ago - You found a GEM. Dennis's is probably most well known for the "Baked Spaghetti Al La Dennis" - It is a plate of spaghetti covered in traditional sauce, peperoni and sausage, then smothered with cheese and then baked in the oven until golden brown. I can assure you - If you are a spaghetti fan, you have NEVER experienced anything like "Baked Spaghetti Al La Dennis" - Try it out. $15.95 Menu Price and only a brave few can eat the entire serving. 100% 5-Star Rating - Based on my 40+ years of experience at this restaurant!
