It's so hard to find a good authentic Mexican restaurant, and sadly this place is no different. This is just another "Mexican" restaurant that caters to the white man's taste. It's either not flavored correctly, overly salted, or no flavor at all. Also everything is smothered in queso (a VA thing). However, the service was great. Servers very attentive and polite. The atmosphere was also great, I like that the tables are spacious and clean. But if you have your hopes up for Mexican style cuisine, do not come here. The food tastes like static.

The Birra Tacos are a capital NO. It has no flavor and broth tasted like water. I didn't even taste the cilantro. I sent them back and ordered the California fries they were good. Not sure if I would go back!

Got take out and couldn't be happier with their simple taco salad. Delicious and flavorful and everything a chicken taco salad should be. My husband got the fajita taco salad and he was super satisfied also. Will come back again and again.

A friend of mine and I stopped here for a late lunch while traveling through the area. I will say, this place was clean a 4/5 and had pretty clean bath rooms. The server was great and the hostess was quick to seat us. My meal was acceptable but did not stand out by any means. Everything tasted old and out of a can. My friend’s meal was inedible. I have never seen nor tasted spinach that was so bitter. I have heard great things about the place so I hope this was an off day.

we requested a table, since my wife uses a cane and getting in and out of a booth is difficult. The chair i got was falling apart. they took it away, and i got another one. a bit loose, but serviceable and safe. We ordered Polo Yucatan, and La Hacienda Quesadilla Al Pastor (could have used a bit more pineapple) , both really great. of course we had left overs. and were still good 2 days later. Both dishes tasted like they were freshly prepared, and not just warmed in an oven like many of the local Mexican restaurants.

There are so many Mexican restaurants in Hampton Roads but this has quickly become our favorite! Everything is fresh and authentic and they have so much more than just the cookie-cutter menu so many other restaurants have. Great specials on food and drinks too!

Normally the food and service is great and nothing but 4-5 star overall experience and food quality. Lately, the service has been lackluster...specifically, take out. Perhaps it's the new young man (no name tag) that (still) doesn't know the menu...this is the 3rd time over the course of the last month that I've came across the same young man. He doesn't know the menu, doesn't ask for help, and today (10 Feb) he chose the most expensive fajita meal to ring me up with...until I asked him which one he was ringing me up for. I asked for the chicken fajitas and he rung me up for the Fajitas Texans. I had to show him in the menus which one it was (sad that I know the menu better than he does). I then ordered a cabeza burrito and again, he had no clue what that was and asked me if I knew which one on the menu that was. I told him to just ring me up for the fajitas and add fresh guacamole. While I was waiting he was restocking his register with change and seemed to have issues with that as well (smh). I'm not one to tag on young people but geesh! A bit frustrating, especially since this isn't the first time this happens. Usually, I've been serviced by "Chino", who is very well versed and haven't had an issue with him or any other associate at this place.
