Three stars because this is a complex review. For taste I'd give the food 5 stars no question. I'm taking off 2 because I had the sushi yesterday at about 4pm, didn't have anything else and my stomach is so sick! It started about 5 hours later at 9pm going on over night into the early morning. RIGHT NOW. Not sure if the food wasn't fresh yesterday or if the area was unclean. Something just was NOT right. Unfortunately I won't go back and risk this horrible stomach ache again.

This sushi place is next level compared to other sushi places near the area. They offer higher end selections such as Uni, ikura with quail eggs and amaebi. The prices are also very reasonable and not much more than other sushi places. Would definitely recommend them for take out. Will have to visit the restaurant setting.

Lovely experience. Great food and friendly staff. Wide variety of sushi and sashimi. I cannot stress this enough, their staff is so kind and really deserves a lot of respect. I loved the Tiger rolls and my family enjoyed their dishes as well. If you're a supporter of small businesses, this is the place. They are VERY good at what they do.☆Gen z certified☆

Best spot for sushi in all of Hampton Roads. In terms of freshness, presentation, and of course taste, for years Oishi has dominated and steadily continues to. Always my first and foremost recommendation.

They got every part right!I live in an area with a few really authentic sushi spots, so I wasn't sure what I was going to get when I was down here on vacation. But this place did everything right! Totally authentic sushi rolls, teriyaki chicken, miso soup was good. It was even real wasabi (at least the high quality 'mostly real' mixed stuff that is really good).Staff was polite, attentive, and helpful. Facility was clean and welcoming.I will eat here again :-)

I've had a hard time finding Japanese food I like since moving to Norfolk. Oishi hits the spot. Fantastic agedashi, rolls are solid. Admittedly would skip the house salad here.

Sushi was good but their ETA on when the food would be ready was off, it took them 20 mins longer than they said it would, while I waited on the parking lot their was no other people that came up to get food or went in and out, the place was empty when I did walk in and get my order.

Very nice and quaint place. I went for lunch last week and enjoyed the food and service. The sushi was very good and my waitress brought my order to me quickly. She was very friendly and checked in on me in a timely manor. I got a lunch special Yakisoba with shrimp. They were NOT stingy on the shrimp. I had at least 6 pieces and they had to be x large or colossal sized at least. My roll was delicious and tasted fresh. The glass of peach Saki she recommended was yummy! I had never had it before. I will definitely be going back.

First time here and I will definitely be coming back again! We had two servers, I wish I got their names, but they were so sweet. They made sure we were satisfied and that everything was tasting great! The food was delicious. They have a pretty large menu and offer a lot of stuff, but we came across them while we were looking for a place to get some sushi. We had the scorpion roll, dragon roll, and the super crunch roll! They were great and everything was fairly priced. Will be coming back again soon!
