Went on 3.14, Pi Day, one server working the whole dining room and only one cook. Shocked at absolutely No management in the building, server said everyone called out. The server was literally running through the dining room with a whole pie above her head.

This is the first time at the Chesapeake Village Inn, but not the first time at a Village Inn. Stepped in for brunch with a group of six, waited patiently to be seated for 5-6 minutes, finally seated. As we waited for waiter/waitress another family of 2 came in after was seated. Both of our tables waiting to be served. The table of finally was waited on. Our group still waiting patiently for a waiter/waitress. Finally a waitress appeared, we all at the table felt she had an attitude for what reason we don’t know. We ordered our drinks she bought them back placing the cups on the table and throwing the straws on the table. She now asked if we were ready to order, one person in the group was not but the rest was. The waitress has a look on face with an attitude. We waited patiently for you guys to seat and to come place our order but now when it’s time for us to order she act as if we are taking to long. So, I told everyone let’s go and find somewhere else to eat, this place is awful. She asked if we wanted our drinks to go, no thank you we said politely and left. Never again will visit Cedar Rd Village Inn.

They closed early tonight. I arrived 20 minutes before they are scheduled to close and the doors are locked. Staff inside turned me away. Disappointing.

Went here for "all you can eat" fish. Disappointment, got frozen Cod fish. Bland had to add hot sauce for taste. Second plate came out half done & we were done! Bootleg Dennys.

Went here for lunch with friends. The meals took some time but the waitress was attentive. The food was good. One friend had a hamburger which he said was delicious. Another had a egg white omelette whick he said was excellent. They did not have grits to his disappointment. I had the 2-2-2 breakfast which contained two eggs, two sausage links, and two pancakes. It was a good meal. Breakfast is served all day.

So, this is the second time we have tried to eat at this restaurant. The first time was for dinner, and even though it was during normal operating hours and there were people in the restaurant we were told it was closed, but the Mexican restaurant across the way was open. This morning we went in for breakfast, and were told it would be a 20-30 minute wait (with a minimal number of customers in the building) and before we could decide the host told us we could go to the Mexican restaurant "it isn't and skin off my back"Pretty sure they don't want customers eating there ?

This review is for February 14th 2024. My wife and I decided we were hungry for a take out Valentines dinner. We called to place on order 5 times but no one ever picked up so I decided to go by and order then wait for it. It was a madhouse when I walked in. The single sweet waitress was super stressed since she was the only one serving except for her manager who was helping as well as assisting cooking. All customers who showed up to be placed at a table were told that they were out of pancakes, steak and other main foods. I had a similar flashback moment when a IHOP in Norfolk that reeked was out of coffee and pancakes. The waitress was extremely nice and dedicated to helping her manager and customers even though she was tossed into this hurricane. It took 45 mins to get my order which was wrong but corrected quickly. A customer arrived to pick up their order but left due to the wait to be charged leaving their food on the counter so I purchased it since I was told it would be tossed. ( I hate wasting food since many have none) I would give it to someone who needs it if i could. I spoke to the manager and asked about the issue and was told that interviews were given to employee prospects but when hired would never show up. I also asked about basic restaurant supplies not being replenished since they were out of certain main foods. She just shrugged.I then asked if this was a franchise but was told it was corporate owned since I asked if an owner existed. These two individuals deserve so much praise for their dedication to dealing with the situation so I tipped handsomely. So many people now no longer want to work for a living since they probably are content with what they have. Those that do not have anything will work harder so maybe we do need immigrants to do what we refuse to do.

This is WHY this place is Horrible & Going out of Business. A yr ago no one could have said anything bad about this place, but now you couldn’t even pay me to eat here. The sandwich looks like a toddler made it, besides it wasn’t even what was ordered. Then they literally put 11 fries on the plate. Just Sad & Gross….

A month without heat?! I have been twice. The first time was a month ago and I figured, “okay, these things happen it’s not too bad”. Now I’m going and it’s 30 degrees outside and outside feels better than inside with all of my winter gear on. I had to leave before I got my food. Yall are terrible to your workers for putting them through that! Don’t go here until they fix the heat!
