Sadly, Covid forced the closure of one of our favorite places to eat. As of May 20, 2021, the building has been torn down and a mattress store is being built in it's place. We have not heard whether Shoney's will reopen in another location near us. I already miss it.

Just happened to be riding by this Shoneys today and to my shock there is nothing left of this restaurant now but a empty lot! I didnt realize they had plans to tear this Shoneys down until today. I guess it was just as well because it had gone down alot in the last few years. Not sure what will be taking its place. They are rehabbing the whole shopping center so its no surprise.

the place was very clean as far as the virus goes. was impressed by the measures they went to. the lunch buffet food was not that great. I am used to cracker barrel and golden corral and their food does not measure up. I will say the staff were great.

Went around 12 on a Sunday as we were traveling home from North Carolina. A majority of the employees I saw were not wearing their masks properly (noses were not covered). An employee bringing “clean” plates to the buffet had his mask on his chin. Several customers were walking around without masks as well. Considering the entire nation is experiencing an increase in Covid cases, we left immediately.

Gloves and sanitizer provided at the breakfast bar. Social distance with the seating and mask required. Food still as good as I remembered during my college days.

Man I wish I had a Shoney's down my way. Happened to hit their seafood night and everything was clean, they had gloves that everyone had to use to serve themselves at the buffet. Fried Whiting, broiled trout with butter and herbs, excellent mac and cheese, good ribs, and even the hush puppies were good. Friendly service, good stuff.

Not a very good experience. My wife threw up right after we got out of the restaurant. I think because we had food from their buffet and it wasn’t that fresh. And the lady asked for the tip on our face even though it was self service. Nobody was serving us food. That seem kin of awkward how she asked. Furthermore there were no plates at the buffet when we got in. Overall it was a bad experience for us!

I usually don't do "reviews" but I felt compelled to do so. We stopped by Shoneys for dinner while passing through VA. We were surprised to see that on Tuesdays, the buffet was $6.99 for seniors. Hey, we'll take it. The buffet was disgusting and had stomach upset for two days. Wouldn't step foot in there ever again! Upon finishing up, the waitress presented us with a bill for $28.18. By my math I figured it to be about $13.98 maybe additional for the two soft drinks we had. Sh told us that at the front register she would make the adjustment. We presented our card and then left. While walking to our vehicle I noticed that we paid $28.18 for that horrible meal with NO adjustment made. I proceeded back to the woman at the register and explained that no discount was given. Her reply floored me. "Oh" she said, "You have to tell me that your a senior".REALLY, My husband is 78 and has white hair!! Unbelievable. Said therewas nothing she could do about it! Good rip off scheme! Beware Seniors!!
