This place has so much potential with the location and friendly staff, but the quality of food is severely lacking. The menu selection is small, which is okay, but the ingredients for lunch items are cheap grocery store meats, cheeses, etc. The place needs to revamp with homemade signature offerings or they will go out of business soon. BTW, there was only one table during the lunch hours....one.

The Bank is an absolute gem. Food was hot ? and fresh. I ordered the fried fish, yams, mixed vegetables and cornbread. As soon as I tasted the sweet tea I knew I was in for a treat. Every bite was a delight. I did not take a picture of the food because my plate was clean before I even thought about it... The next time I'm traveling from Atlanta to Norfolk I'm coming to taste more off the menu. Thank you for a great Sunday dinner.

Food was absolutely delicious! Would love to order again but their service isn't really good. There are disabled ppl in the world who does not have the ability to eat in restaurants especially with stairs. They never really answer their phones. I tried placing an order last night around 7 pm and again today around 1:30 pm again no answer. Truly disappointed!

Love coming here when I stay in Emporia for work. Best bartender in town. She does amazing martinis with bitters. Something I have never experienced before. Food is also amazing. ❤️

Food and service was good. We were in town going to a scuba certification course 30 minutes away and had been told there would be only fast food restaurants, so we were very pleasantly surprised to find this restaurant with good food and good service!

The hostess was rude as hell when I first walked in, she just stared with an angry look on her face. According to the sign outside they were open, I asked if they were open, and the old lady was too busy to reply, just gave me dirty looks. A waitress came and sat me down, she was incredibly nice, she made a good recommendation. I had a chicken Caesar pasta. The food came fast, it was good, and all staff other than the hostess were great. The bartender had my drink up fast, waitress was quick with service and very pleasant.

Stopped here on a whim for food while on our way through North Carolina. It was decent for what's available around the area. Not a stop if you don't have an extra hour to spend at leisure and no particular southern hospitality. Fried chicken over cooked

What an adorable venue. This is an old bank converted into a restaurant. The food is southern with a twist, and yummy comfort food, all inspired by the owners' mothers. Thus the inspired by tag. The lunch menu was small but had a lot of choices. I had the club sandwich which was perfect. Crispy toast, just the perfect ratio of ingredients to mayo. It tasted fresh, delicious and brought me back to one of my favorite childhood treats. My husband had the fried chicken wings with homemade, honey old bay sauce. I don't even like chicken wings, but loved these. They had just enough spice for flavor without being overwhelming. Both plates were large and came with fries or onion rings( steaming hot and cooked perfectly), and a drink! Prices are more than reasonable for the size and deliciousness of this meal. P. S. Coffee is really good, and I'm a snob about coffee, and sweet tea( my husband had 1/2 sweet) was fresh and tasty.Tamika, our server was delightful and a pleasure to talk to. The service was excellent on all counts. We wish we lived closer.

Really a quaint friendly atmosphere set in an old bank in Emporia- very nice people- Tameka gave us great recommendations. I had the smothered fried chicken, corn bread and mashed potatoes- delicious. My husband had the smothered beef steak also delicious! Highly recommend this place.
