The Marvolo and the Marvoloso stouts are great... but they are gone. The Irish style sweet stout is pretty good, though. There are plenty of IPAs which IPA drinkers seem to really enjoy as well. I wish they allowed customization of their pizzas.. a fennel sausage and pepperoni would be awesome. They would really benefit from an acoustic study of the space. The design of the vintage concrete ceiling creates a massive amount of resonance which makes it easy to hear everything everywhere all at once. Super difficult for folks with any audio processing disorder.

Commonwealth Brewing Company is a fun indoor/outdoor experience with a vast drink menu. While we didn't get any drinks, the Boardwalk Fries were AMAZING! The perfect blend of pepper, Old Bay, and salt that really hit the spot as we waited for our dinner reservations. The menu is given by QR code scan and the staff brings out each item quite fast. The store is clean and has nice picnic tables throughout the restaurant. Very spacious and great for large groups! I was so busy enjoying the fries I forgot to snap a picture I look forward to coming back and enjoying a nice brew when Spring rolls around!

The sound bounces around in here making it difficult to hear the people at your table. Suggest installing noise reduction in the ceiling and walls please.

I hope you like screaming children, cuz that's what this place has to offer in abundance. You may say, "A business cannot help what how many children that are in attendance". True. But they can add soundproofing. I promise, you will not be able to hear your companions without straining yourselves. The tables are large, wide, picnic table style tables, kind of awkward to sit at. It's like a Chuckie Cheese with none of the games. I will say, there was a good selection of beer that I thought was pretty good. I would get beer to go in the future. The food was not good at all.

We went on a Friday evening. They had a really nice crowd - almost full. We shared a large table with two other parties and struck up a conversation with one of them. Very friendly atmosphere. They had about 30 beers on tap and another 10 in cans. I'd say 80% of the choices were IPAs (not my favorite), but there were some pilsners, lagers, and stouts too. I had a pilsner and an imperial stout - very good.Food can be ordered via the web using a QR code from the table (beer cannot be ordered this way - you need to go to the bar). Food was delivered quickly. We had the Bavarian pretzel and Korean wings and enjoyed them very much. The staff is friendly and outgoing. The only complaint I have is that it is VERY LOUD. The high ceiling and open dining area make conversation pretty tough.

I attended an event here earlier in the week and it was my first time visiting this area of Fairfax. Parking was a tad confusing and minimal but the establishment itself is easy to access. They have wonderful outdoor seating and a lot of indoor seating. They serve food, mostly finger foods, and they serve cider, a couple seltzers, wine, beer, and soda. The bartenders were so kind and understanding with those of use who didn't drink beer but wanted to partake in some of the fun. I personally enjoyed a tropical seltzer and some Blanca (white cheese) pizza with arugula.

This place is okay! Nothing bad but also nothing truly stood out. The food was mediocre. The pizza had good crunch but lacked a lot of flavor. They do not allow you to add more toppings. We ordered beer cheese and ranch on the side for a $1 or $1.50 more. They didn't fill the beer cheese to the top? Although it tasted like nacho cheese from a 7/11 machine. They were also sold out of a lot of food items this particular Sunday evening. Their drinks are fun and tasty. I liked that they had so many options and allow you to taste the drafts beforehand. They even have a cocktail menu up on the board. Staff was friendly and polite. The overall atmosphere is very nice. It is a large space but too bright and too loud for me. It looked very clean and new so maybe in the day time the ambiance would fit better?

I don't know what to say besides that it's incredibly generic. While it's a decent place to stop for beer and eat some wings or whatever, it's just very bland and feels like a mall cafeteria. It gets pretty crowded on the weekends which I guess means that there aren't enough watering holes in the area. There is outdoor seating and they do bring food to your table but you gotta go in line inside for drinks.

Came in to listen to our friends play bluegrass, decided to have some pizza and drinks. Pretty loud place, but delicious pizzas and drinks. My husband got a stout and I got #25 Teahupo'o ( hard seltzer-mango pink guava). Nice establishment , clean and well run. Tables were cleaned off regularly and the gentleman in the green/olive hoodie was working it:he stopped and answered questions, he was bringing boxes and busing tables.

This is one of the best breweries I've visited in VA! I didn't try a single beer I didn't like, and the food menu looks delicious. Definitely come check it out!

Why does a restaurant need your mobile number and email address to order food? Walked out as a result. Silly process.

Walked into Old town Fairfax and stopped in at Commonwealth Brewing, quite the place to be, huge crowd and a few minute wait for beverages. Which worked out for us, gave us time to pick the perfect choice. A lot of indoor seating and outdoor as well(so bring your pups). The drink selection board for beverages is crazy huge(see pic) and a wide variety of different styles of drinks. A seasonal favorite of my wife's is the Mimosa drink, usually around spring n summertime. Pleasantly surprised to see a nice list of fall drinks, that were not beer(see pic). Ordering food is very simple, scan the QR code at your table and select some good pub grub types of Apps. and they have a wood fired pizza oven. We tried the pepperoni pizza today, and it was fabulous. ( a little burnt for my taste, but it was delicious). The soft pretzel looked real good, but we were stuffed and will try pretzel next time..with a smash burger. Seasonal drinks. My wife had the gin garden and loved it. I had the Old Fashion and it was delightful. The service was impeccable and the entire staff is very friendly..Thank You.

Really enjoyed visiting this commonwealth location! We love the VB location and this one was a great vibe as well. Staff was helpful and attentive. They brought our pup water and checked in. 10/10 would recommend.

Great beer!! Come for the beer! Seriously. The beer alone is 6/5 stars. Pizza is also really tasty and there are a lot of great flavor combos.Staff are friendly, helpful, and fun when you need them... but you have to flag them down.I don't love the business model of minimal service, similar to the Caboose brewery. It sucks to not have enough napkins, do everything yourself, and not have staff check on you to see if you need something. That's the model and I don't like the model. Also don't love the bench seating and having to kinda sorta share tables with people you don't know until you can hop over to another free one like you're in a HS cafeteria. Wish they had a more extensive menu as well. There are also always random free range kids running around with no adults telling them to not collide with people carrying glassware. But I digress. If you're here just for the beer and don't care about anything else in the paragraph above, then, hey! That's why I didn't rate it 3 stars ? Fabulous beer!!
